A. Operation and Control of the AOC Standard Application

General This paragraph describes the interaction of the ATSU with the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU). The three Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) are used as interface between the crew and the Air Traffic Services Unit (ATSU). They provide the means necessary to enter the text for data storage, data review and transmission-system status. There are six line select-keys on each side of the display. When the ATSU is given control of a MCDU, the ATSU DATALINK menu is displayed. The AOC MENU page is the root page through which the different pages may be accessed.

Structure of the AOC menus (Ref. Fig. 003, 004, 005, 006, 007) The AOC application presents a main AOC MENU page in correspondance with the flight phase:
-PRE-FLIGHT MENU at the start of a new flight leg
-IN-FLIGHT MENU after the Take-Off phase
-POST-FLIGHT MENU after the touchdown phase.
