A. Operational Use of the Standard AOC Applications
This paragraph describes the interaction of the ATSU with the
Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU).
The three Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) are used as
interface between the crew and the Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU).
They provide the means necessary to enter the text for data storage, data
review and transmission-system status.
The formats given in this paragraph depict the exact layout of each page.
There are six line select-keys on each side of the display.
(1) General AOC MENU architecture (Ref. Fig. 001) When the ATSU is given control of a MCDU, the ATSU DATALINK menu is displayed. The AOC MENU page is the root page through which the different pages may be accessed.

(a) INIT DATA page 1/2 This page enables the crew to enter or review the preflight initialization information and to downlink an automatic initialization request.
1_ FLT NUM (LSK 1L)
FMC flight number displayed in four digits.
2_ ORIG STA (LSK 2L)
Flight origin station displayed in four digits.
3_ ETD (LSK 3L)
Estimated Time of Departure displayed in Hour:Minutes form.
4_ SCHED DATE (LSK 1R)
The scheduled date indicates the number of the flight
departure day (the number is so comprised between 1 and 31).
5_ DEST STA (LSK 2R)
Flight destination station displayed in four digits.
6_ ETE (LSK 3R)
Estimated Time Enroute displayed in Hour:Minutes form.
7_ INIT REQ (LSK 5R)
Selection of the line key adjacent to the INIT REQ indication
results in sending to the ground an automatic initialization
request message. Then, INIT REQ is replaced by CONFIRM
indication.
Selection of the line key adjacent to the CONFIRM indication
results in downlinking the automatic initialization request
message.
