Installation of the Ultracomp (52QT)

You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2)
Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
R (1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Make sure that the adjustable access platform is below the applicable zone:
-
FOR 57QT, 63QT
below ZONE 540
-
FOR 58QT, 64QT below ZONE 640. (Ref. Fig. 411/TASK 28-42-43-991-014, 412/TASK 28-42-43-991-015)
(3)
Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-002):

FOR 57QT remove 540AB, 540BB, 540DB, 540HB and 540NB
-
FOR 58QT remove 640AB, 640BB, 640DB, 640HB and 640NB
-
FOR 63QT remove 540AB, 540BB, 540EB, 540FB, 540LB, 540MB, 540PB and 540QB
-
FOR 64QT remove 640AB, 640BB, 640EB, 640FB, 640LB, 640MB, 640PB and 640QB.
R (4) Open access panel 574BB(674BB).
R (5) Make sure that the applicable surge door is open:

FOR 57QT
open 540AZ and 540BZ
-
FOR 58QT
open 640AZ and 640BZ
-
FOR 63QT
open 540BZ
-
FOR 64QT
open 640BZ.
R (6) Make sure that the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) or HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) is on the applicable surge door.

R A. Preparation for Installation R
WARNING : USE A PROTECTIVE EYE SHIELD/GOGGLES WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED
_______ AIR. DEBRIS AND/OR HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN DAMAGE YOUR EYES.
WARNING : DO NOT PUT COMPRESSED GAS IN CONTACT WITH YOUR SKIN. THE GAS
_______ CAN GO THROUGH THE SKIN AND MAKE BUBBLES IN THE BLOOD. THIS CONDITION CAN KILL YOU.
(1) Use a plastic spatula to remove the sealant at the interface of the electrical backshell (8) and the rear spar.
R (2) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING R AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean:

the electrical backshell (8)
-
the interface of the electrical backshell (8) and the rear spar.
(3) Dry the cleaned areas with compressed air.

(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

R B. Installation of the Wing Tank Harness 57QT (58QT), 63QT (64QT)
(1) Get access to the opening 540BB(640BB).
(2) Identify and attach each piece of string to its applicable wing tank harness cable.
R R (3) Attach the related connectors together at all the ends of the wing tank harness with adhesive tape.
NOTE : This will help you move the wing tank harness through its____ conduit.
(4) Use the string to carefully pull the wing tank harness through its conduit. When you install the wing tank harness make sure that it does not catch.
R R (5) Remove and discard the adhesive tape and the string from all the ends of the wing tank harness.
