The Landing Gear Control and Interface Unit (LGCIU) indicates the aircraft status (flight or ground) to the VHF BITE in order to increment the fault memories in case of CFDIU failure (Ref. 32-31).

 -
The System Data Acquisition Concentrator (SDAC1 and 2) collects transmission information from the VHF system and allows the transmit mode of the VHF system to be recorded. The connection is obtained through the KEY EVENT output information of the VHF transceiver. If the transmission lasts more than 1 min., the VHF-X EMITTING indication is displayed on the CRTs (Ref. 31-54). (Ref. Fig. 004)


 -An emission lasting more than 30 seconds starts a "bip-bip" aural warning. After a 35-second transmission time, the emitter is automatically turned off. The PTT has to be released then activated again for a new transmission to be allowed. Data communications are interrupted when RMP or MCDU switches from data to voice.
 -The Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU) routes data toward the VHF system for data communications. In voice mode and when VHF3 is controlled by MCDU, the ATSU provides the VHF3 system with voice frequencies (this characteristic is valid with current ATSU standards).

 The VHF3 system is also associated with the Aircraft Communication
 Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS).
 This system transmits the data from the SDAC, FWC, AIDS, and CFDS to the
 ground.

 A. VHF1 System
 The VHF1 system is supplied with 28VDC:

 -From the 28VDC ESS BUS 4PP (sub-busbar 401PP)
 -Through circuit breaker 2RC1 located on the overhead panel 49VU, in the
 cockpit.
 The VHF1 system is supplied by the emergency system.

 B. VHF2 System
 The VHF2 system is supplied with 28VDC:

 -From the 28VDC BUS 2 2PP (sub-busbar 204PP)
 -Through circuit breaker 2RC2 located on the rear panel 121VU, in the cockpit.

 The VHF3 system is supplied with 28VDC:

 -From the 28VDC BUS1 1PP (sub-busbar 101PP)
 -Through circuit breaker 2RC3 located on the rear panel 121VU in the cockpit.

 A. Output Interface
 (1) Digital Outputs The connections with the CFDIU is a type-1 system. This type of system has an ARINC 429 input from the CFDIU and an ARINC 429 output. This system is thus capable of two-way communication with the CFDIU (Ref.31-32). The radio-communication equipment receives the frequency data through words from the RMPs. These words have a structure and a refresh rate defined in ARINC 429 characteristics specification. On the output bus, each VHF transceiver transmits the labels 356,
 377.
 This table contains all the output parameters in the digital form. They are sorted as per the numerical order of their output label.
