R  5 Log-off_
R
R  The AES should log off prior to terminating its operation.
R  This log-off may be initiated either directly or as a result
R  of some turn-down procedure associated with the end of an
R  in-service period for the AES. The AES aborts any calls in
R  progress, and transmits a request for log-off to the logged on
R  GES.
R  8. BITE Test_________
R  The CFDS (Centralized Fault Display System) permits the SATCOM system faults
R  to be displayed on the MCDU and to be printed on the printer.
R  The SATCOM system communicates with the CFDIU through two ARINC 429 buses.
R  The CFDIU has two operating modes:
R  - normal mode : during the normal mode, the BITE cyclically monitors the
R  status of the SATCOM cards and transmits this data to the CFDIU during the
R  flight. In case of fault detection the BITE stores the information in the
R  fault memory.
R  - the menu mode, enables communication between the CFDIU and the SATCOM BITE
R  through the MCDU. The BITE test can only be activated on ground.
R  A. Menu mode
R  (1) SYSTEM REPORT/TEST function
R  This function enables access to all the electronic systems and to the
R  SATCOM system.
R  When the line key adjacent to the SATCOM indication is pushed on the
R  MCDU, the CFDIU establishes the dialog and provides access to one of
R  the following items:
R  - LAST LEG REPORT
R  - PREVIOUS LEGS REPORT
R  - LRU IDENTIFICATION
R  - GROUND SCANNING
R  - TROUBLE SHOOTING DATA
R  - CLASS 3 FAULTS
R  - TEST
R  - GROUND REPORT.
R  (a) LAST LEG REPORT
R  (Ref. Fig. 023)
R  This report contains the internal computer faults recorded during
R  the last flight.
R  If no faults have occurred during the last leg, "No Fault
R  detected" is displayed.

R  (b) PREVIOUS LEGS REPORT
R  (Ref. Fig. 024)
R  The PREVIOUS LEGS REPORT contains class 1 and class 2 Faults that
R  occurred during the last 63 flights.
R  (c) LRU IDENTIFICATION
R  (Ref. Fig. 025)
R  The LRU IDENTIFICATION displays the HARDWARE (P/N) and the
R  SOFTWARE (SW/N) Part Number.
R  (d) GROUND SCANNING
R  (Ref. Fig. 026)
R  This function permits the display of 1, 2 and 3 internal and
R  external faults as they appear as long as this function is
R  activated.
R  (e) TROUBLE SHOOTING DATA
R  (Ref. Fig. 027)
R  This function permits the display in hexadecimal form of class 1,
R  2 and 3 external and internal faults.
R  (f) CLASS 3 FAULTS
R  (Ref. Fig. 028)
R  This function permits the display of all the class 3 internal and
R  external faults.
