4. Procedure
_________
Subtask 23-11-00-860-063
A. Procedure to change the ICAO address
(1) Take the ICAO address and convert it into binary format
(a)
Find the plug to be pin-programmed (Ref. AWM 23-11-07)
(b)
Connect the pin-programming according to the binary format of the ICAO address. Any pin to be coded "1" on the plug, must be connected to the common pin <B of the same plug.
NOTE : Pin A of the plug is MSB
____
NOTE : For example, ICAO address 76CD46 (hexadecimal)/35546506
____ (octal) must be converted into 0111 0110 1100 1101 0100 0110 (binary). Thus, pins B, C, D, F, G, J, K, N, P, S, U, Y, and Z of the plug must be connected to pin <B (Ref. AWM 23-11-07).
(c) Make sure that the binary coding sum is odd. If it is not odd, connect the pin <C to the common pin <B.
Subtask 23-11-00-865-060
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1RE1, 1RE2
