R C. Cabin Communications System-SDU Interface
R A digital CEPT E1 interface is used between the SDU and the cabin system.
R The Cabin Communications System (CCS), in conjunction with the Satellite
R provides cabin services such as telephone, facsimile, and other
R communication interfaces.
R The Cabin Communications Unit (CCU) performs onboard Private Automatic
R Branch Exchange (PABX) telephony functions that enable the
R cabin/passenger telecommunications equipment to make the best use of
R resources provided by the SATCOM.
R D. Data Loader-SDU Interface
R
R An ARINC 429 bus is used to download the data of the Owner Requirement
R Table (ORT) into the SDU.
R E. LGCIU-SDU Interface
R
R The LGCIUs transmit air/ground information discrete outputs to the SDU.
R
R F. CFDS-SDU Interface
R
R This avionics package includes the AIRBUS BITE function.

R (1) SATCOM MAIN MENU page
R (Ref. Fig. 008)
R The SATCOM MAIN MENU page contains only the SATCOM STATUS prompt. It
R provides access to lower level pages
R (2) STATUS page
R (Ref. Fig. 009)
R (a) Present SATCOM System BITE status is displayed adjacent to line
R key 1L. This line displays:
R <BITE OK (using PAGE SELECT color type) if all SATCOM LRUs pass
R BITE and are active on the bus and all installed channel modules
R are functional; or
R <BITE OK* (using PAGE SELECT color type) if all SATCOM LRUs pass
R BITE and are active, but not all installed channel modules are
R functional; or
R <BITE FAIL (using the FAULT ANNUNCIATION color type) if one or
R more LRUs reports a fault or inactivity on the bus.
R Only LRUs which are indicated as being installed by the rear
R connector pins of the SDU are monitored. Selection of line key 1L
R displays the SATCOM BITE STATUS 1/3 page.
R (b) Selection of line key 1R displays the SATCOM LOG page.
R (c) Selection of line key 2L displays the SATCOM CONFIG page.
R (d) Selection of line key 3R determines whether new air-to-ground
R calls are accepted from the CTU. Calls already in progress are
R not affected. Selecting line key 3R alternates display between
R ENABLED* or DISABLED*. The default at power-up is ENABLED*. This
R prompt (and the title cabin calls) is not displayed if strapping
R indicates no CTU is installed or if the ORT option CEPT ENABLE*
R is set to disabled.
R (e) Selection of line key 6L when the letters XXXX are in the
R scratchpad results in display of the SATCOM TEST page.
R (3) SATCOM BITE STATUS pages
R The three SATCOM BITE STATUS pages provide indication of fault status
