INTRODUCTION
Like the FCOM and the SOP, the Emergency & Abnormal Procedures are not certified by the Regulatory authorities or the Manufacturer. These are presented herein as the best way to proceed from a technical and operational standpoint so as to simplify or to elaborate on the Emergency procedures as given in the QRH / FCOM as well as to standardize the procedures for our Airline. No information/ procedure contained herein is intended to overrule the Airplane Flight Manual. In case of any conflicting procedure / information, the AFM must be followed. These procedures will be updated taking into account the inputs from AIR INDIA CREW and lessons from the manufacturer's experience. These procedures complement the corresponding FCOM procedures which is the basic Training Manual. It provides information / procedure / techniques -
(i) when FCOM expanded information is insufficient to cover the objective.
(ii) to define certain techniques not included in FCOM
(iii) to standardize training.
Mistakes in printing / compilation & suggestions to improve the contents of these procedures may please be addressed to General Manager- Ops (Trg), Operations Training Division, Air-India.
General: In all emergencies / abnormal situations a careful, deliberate and systematic approach, using all suitable resources must be carried out. Many a time, undue haste has complicated and compounded a problem.
No action should be taken apart from audio warning cancel until:
• Flight path is stabilized.
