8. Profile  mode if  armed at take off will not engage  at thrust  reduction  altitude in a SE condition and will only engage  in clean configuration,  at Green dot speed  and passing engine  out thrust  reduction  altitude.

 

9.  Quick landing procedure:  
 Start APU.
 HYD PWR ELEC PUMPS……………….ON
 PTU ( affected side, unless hydraulic fluid loss is suspected)…….ON
 HYD PWR ENG PUMPS  ( affected side) ……………………….OFF
 PITCH FEEL and SPLR (if selected OFF)…………………RESTORE
 YAW DAMPER (if tripped OFF) ……………………………..RESET
 OVERWEIGHT LANDING , REFER QRH , if applicable.

10.    If engine fails on Approach:
(i) 1000' or more to touchdown, carry out Primary ECAM Actions, check Auto-brakes armed, continue Approach, and apply QLP.
(ii) Below 1000' no action except cancel warning, continue Approach, check 
            Auto-brakes armed. Inform ATC.


11. After successful restart, the flight may be continued to destination, if is reasonably certain that, the cause of engine failure was external (e.g. heavy rain, icing, fuel mismanagement etc).  In all other cases, it is recommended to return to the departure airport.

 
ENGINE STALL

- It may be difficult to identify the stalled engine. Typical symptoms :

• Increase in EGT
• Increase in FF
• Shift in N2
• Perceptible vibrations or increase in vibration indications.
• Varying degrees of abnormal engine noise (rumbling – bangs)

When flight path is stabilised and above 400 feet AGL during take off "Identify engine"

           "Affected engine throttle Idle"
            "Continuous Relight"

- "Engine stall C/L”.
- If parameters abnormal………….
- continue C/L till Fuel lever off / 1st agent discharge.
- Thereafter, follow ‘Engine failure after V1 procedures’.
- If parameters normal………………
- continue engine stall C/L and  normal procedures, as applicable.

Notes:
1. Damage may be ascertained by checking the limits exceedance / Engine Oil Qty. / Vibration level / N1 & N2, apart from aural cues.
2. The continued operation of an engine after a stall must be considered with extreme caution and close monitoring.
