Follow the check list. (starting from “2nd fuel lever off”)
Note: In case of engine start fire or engine shutdown fire (i.e tailpipe fire – indicated rapidly rising EGT / flames from tail pipe reported by ground crew), it is emphasized that discharging agent 1/2 will have no effect. As a last resort, the ground fire extinguisher is to be used to combat the fire.
Note :
1. The 10 secs. delay before discharging agent is not required on ground. 15 secs. after 2nd Agent has been discharged the PF must confirm the situations of fire and decide if evacuation is required.
2. Cabin crew will be alerted by following call " Attention Crew at Stations"
3. Evacuation will be initiated by following Announcement "Crew Evacuate Passengers from ________ Exits". Nominate appropriate exits – LH/RH. This should be followed up by pressing EVAC Signal and subsequently cancelling the Horn.
4. Inform ATC.
5. Seat back manually. If at night, torch in hand.
6. CVR CB to be pulled.
7. First Officer to exit from front exit and Captain to exit from Rear Exit after checking all passengers evacuated. Third crew member, will exit from L2/ R2 if present.
8. If Evacuation not required Announce "Cabin Crew and Passengers keep your seats"
Inform ATC that Evacuation not required.
Note : If Evacuation is required, consider positioning the aircraft on the runway with the side where fire is present, away from the wind so that the wind does not blow the fire on to the aircraft and towards the evacuating passengers :
