               applicable.
QRH-     Call for the QRH to check for any possible additional items.
Expanded Checklist- (as time permits) Know all the important things
found in the associated expanded checklist in FCOM Vol.2. You will
soon realise that relying on the ECAM or QRH may not be enough at
                times.
Distribution & Equipment lists- Check for systems remaining on Electrical,
Nav, or Hydraulics. The secondary effects of system lost usually
means some level of flight control loss.
Landing Distance& Speed corrections-  to cater for essential services lost.
ATC & Cabin PA-  PA is CM1’s responsibility.
CORRECT ECAM ACTIONS AND READING OF THE QRH BY CM2:
When called for to carry out ECAM actions and later the QRH reading, it must be done in such a manner that all C/L’s are carried out correctly & at the same time, attempt to monitor the flight path as well. Not an easy task but one that can be done. The typical example would be LOSS OF BOTH ENG GENERATORS. You will be reading the seemingly never-ending QRH action items, your side of cockpit instruments are dead, and you still have to monitor the CM1’s flying/manual flying (with only limited instrumentation!) and the flight path. It is a daunting task indeed.
This is enough to bring home that the A310 is demanding to handle with such an emergency while still trying to maintain Situational Awareness. With proper training and practice this can be done with confidence. In real life, you have to do this in order to survive anyway.

  Declaring an Emergency :

The following sequence should be used for indicating an emergency :

If in direct VHF contact with ATC inform ATC in the following manner: e.g."Singapore Control AI 424, No. 2 engine on fire - declaring an Emergency".

If other aircraft are transmitting and you want to attract attention, transmit as follows : "Mayday Mayday Mayday ,AI-424 No. 2 engine on fire, FL 120"

If not in VHF contact  with ATC, immediately transmit on 121.5 giving the nature of emergency your position and flight level. Time permitting transmit Intentions and assistance required.

Later, time permitting transmit on HF or relay through other aircraft on VHF.
