(7)  Remove and discard the gasket. 
(8)  Put a blanking cover on the governor drive pad and put a cover over the governor mounting face. 

B. Install the Propeller Governor
Detail Steps/Work Items  Key Items/References 
(1)  Put the governor and gasket in position on the engine drive pad.  Refer to Figure 2. Use a new gasket. 
(2)  Install the four washers and nuts which attach the governor to the drive pad.  Torque 23 Nm (17 lb.ft). 
(3)  Put the propeller control cable support bracket in position on the governor.  Hold the bracket in position. 
(4)  Install the two washers and screws which attach the bracket to the governor. 
(5)  Lock the screws with lock-wire. 
(6)  Connect the propeller control cable wire-end to the governor control lever: S Push the wire-end through the hole in the attachment bolt, between the governor input lever and the inboard washer. S Make sure that the wire-end is fully through the attachment bolt. S Tighten the lock-nut on the attachment bolt. 
(7)  Adjust the propeller control cable.  Refer to Paragraph 4.

3. Remove/Install the Propeller Control Cable
A. Remove the Propeller Control Cable

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS SAFE BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK ON THE PROPELLER CONTROLS. IF THE ENGINE IS TURNED, THE PROPELLER CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. 
(1)  Make sure that the engine is safe: S Set the ignition switch to OFF. S Set the throttle to IDLE. S Set the mixture control to LEAN CUT-OFF. 
(2)  Remove the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-10. 
(3)  Disconnect the spark plug cables from the spark plugs. 
(4)  Disconnect the cable wire-end from the governor control lever: S Loosen the nut of the attachment bolt. S Pull the cable wire-end clear.  Refer to Figure 2. 
(5)  Remove the cable from support bracket at the governor: S Remove the front adjuster-nut. S Remove the washer. S Move the cable aft and clear of the support bracket. S Remove the rear adjusting nut from the cable.

(6)  Move the cable aft and through the rubber grommets in the engine cooling baffles. 
(7)  Remove the feed-thru from the engine side of the firewall: S Remove the fire resistant sealant from where the cable goes through the firewall. S Remove the two rivets that attach the split shields to the firewall. S Remove the split-shields. S Move the two halves of the split-bush forward and clear of the cable. 
(8)  Remove the knob from the fuel selector valve: S Remove the cross-head screw from the center of the control-knob and pull the knob up and off the fuel selector valve. S Remove the mounting plate. 
(9)  Release the engine control assembly: S Loosen the throttle friction adjuster until the adjuster is disconnected from the shaft. S Remove the four cross-head screws which attach the engine control lower-cover-plate to the engine control assembly. S Remove the two hex-headed bolts from the top of the upper-cover -plate. S Lift and support the engine control assembly clear of the center console.  Pull and hold the throttle friction adjuster clear. Make sure you do not pull on the control cables.
