indicator and a GLIDE SLOPE aural warning. The PULL UP and INOP indicators remain of.
(a)  
Simulate a radio altitude of 750 feet.

(b)  
Tune VHF NAV-1 to a localizer frequency.

(c)  
Using the signal generator, apply a 0 GS deviation signal. Check that no warning occurs.

(d)  
Apply a more than 2.5-dot fly-up deviation signal. Check that G/S warning comes on with a soft voice.

(e)  
Set landing gear lever to OFF position check that G/S Warning goes off.

(f)  
Set landing gear lever to DN position. Slowly reduce radio altitude to 250 feet. Check that G/S warning comes on, changing from a soft voice to a loud voice at approximately 300 feet.

(g)  
Reduce radio altitude to 0 feet. Check that G/S warning goes off.

(h)  
Increase radio altitude to 200 feet. Check that G/S warning comes on with a loud voice.

(i)  
Reduce glide slide deviation signal until warning goes off.

(j)  
Slowly increase glide slope deviation signal. Check that G/S warning comes on with a soft voice at 1 dot to 1.6 dot fly-up deviation.

(k)  
Increase glide slope deviation signal until the loud voice comes on. Press captain's and first officer's BELOW G/S indicator. Check that G/S warning goes off.

(l)  
Increase radio altitude to 1500 feet, then reduce to 500 feet. Increase glide slope deviation signal to 2.5-dot. Check that G/S warning comes on with a soft voice.

(m)  
Press captain's BELOW G/S indicator. Check that G/S warning goes off.

(n)  
Very slowly reduce radio altitude to 0 feet. Check that G/S warning remains off.

(o)  
Increase radio altitude to 1500 feet, then reduce to 900 feet. Press captain's BELOW G/S indicator. Check that no warning occurs.

(p)  
Increase glide slope deviation signal to 2.5-dot fly-up and slowly reduce radio altitude to 200 feet. Check that no warning occurs.

(q)  
Slowly reduce radio altitude to 0 feet. Check that no warning occurs.


(6)  
Test Decision Height Warning (On GUN ALL)

(a)  
Simulate a 200-foot radio altitude.

(b)  
Increase decision height by adjusting MDA cursor on captain's LRRA indicator until MDA (or DH) light comes on.

(c)  
Check that two cycles of MINIMUM aural warning occurs.

 

(7)  
Restore airplane to normal.

(a)  
Slowly relieve pitot static system and remove test adapters.

(b)  
Return flap system to normal.

(c)  
Reset radio altitude to normal and disconnect test simulator.

(d)  
If no longer required, remove electrical power.

GPWS CONTROL MODULE - SERVICING (BULB REPLACEMENT)
1. General
A.  This subject has one task. The task is for replacement of the bulb. It is also necessary to do a test of the bulb operation.
2.  GPWS Control Module Switch/Indicator Bulb Replacement
A.  Standard Tools and Equipment
(1)  Lamp - 5 volts, 60ma - P/N MS24515-685
B.  References
(1)  24-22-0, Manual Control (Apply Power)
C.  Procedure
(1)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)  
P18
1) GND PROX WARN


(b)  
P6
1) DIM & TEST and INDICATOR LIGHTS

 

CAUTION:  DO NOT USE PLIERS OR ANY OTHER TOOLS TO REMOVE THE CAP ASSEMBLIES. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SWITCH CAP.
(2) 
 Replace lamps:

(a)  
Hold the cap assembly tightly on the two sides and pull the assembly out of the switch.

(b)  
Turn the cap assembly to get access to the lamps.

(c)  
Remove lamps from the cap assembly.

(d)  
Install the replacement lamps.

(e)  
Turn the cap and put the cap assembly into the switch.

 

(3)  
Close these circuit breakers:

(a)  
P18
1) GND PROX WARN


(b)  
P6
1) DIM & TEST and INDICATOR LIGHTS

 


(4)  
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-0).

(5)  
Set the LIGHTS switch on the Pilots' center panel to the TEST position. Make sure the lamps come on.

(6)  
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-0).
