OMEGA/ADF ANTENNA COUPLER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Remove OMEGA Antenna Coupler (Fig. 401)
A. Gain access to antenna coupler from inside main landing gear wheel well. Coupler is located on outboard area of rear bulkhead. Disconnect coupler electrical connectors. System No. 1 coupler is located in left wheel well and system No. 2 (when installed) is located in right wheel well.
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH OR MOVE ANTTEN INPUT STUD ON FAIRING ASSEMBLY OR ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS MAY BE ALTERED.
B. Remove screws (4) holding mounting plate to airplane structure. Support coupler assembly and tilt forward to expose feed thru studs and jumper wire to antenna assembly.
C. Disconnect jumper wire to antenna and ADF coupler (note location of respective jumper on OMEGA coupler).
D. Remove screws (4 places) holding antenna coupler to mounting plate and remove coupler.
2. Install OMEGA Antenna Coupler
A. Perform removal steps in reverse order.
CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS DOWN ON PORCELIN INSULATION WHEN CONNECTING JUMPER WIRES TO ANTENNA COUPLER STUDS. THEY ARE FRAGILE AND MAY CRACK.
B. Verify that bonding jumper is connected from mounting plate to airplane structure.
C. Perform test of antenna coupler by checking OMEGA signal sensitivity check (Ref 34-59-0, Adjustment/Test).
