C. Disconnect electrical connectors.
3. Install Indicator
A. Connect electrical connectors, push in indicator, and tighten clamp.
B. Close circuit breakers opened in step 2.A.
4. Test Indicator
A. The following tests are provided to check horizontal situation indicator operation. For a quick check of indicator after installation perform Indicator Power-On Test (Par c). For a more complete check out of the indicator perform Indicator Radio Navigation Displays Test (Par D).
B. Prepare to Test
(1)
Provide external electrical power
(2)
Verify all circuit breakers for flight director, VOR/ILS navigation, compass, and attitude reference systems are closed and all systems are operational.
(3)
Verify all INST XFMR and INST XFR circuit breakers are closed.
(4)
Tune both VHF NAV receivers to a VOR frequency other than local VOR station.
(5)
Position VHF NAV, COMPASS and VERTICAL GYRO transfer switches to NORMAL.
NOTE: The NORMAL position of transfer switches implies captain on 1 ond first officer on 2.
C. Indicator Power On Test
(1)
Open applicable INST XFMR circuit breaker (Ref step. 2.A). Check compass (heading) warning flag appears and NAV-VOR/ILS annunciator displays NAV.
(2)
