5. Test Exit Sign
A. Lift guard on EMER EXIT switch on P14 aft attendant's panel and position switch to ON.
CAUTION:  RETURN SWITCH TO OFF POSITION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO CONSERVE BATTERIES.
B. Verify that sign illuminates.
C. Return EMER EXIT switch on P14 aft attendant's panel to guarded NORM position.
D. Verify that EXIT sign has gone out.

EMERGENCY EXIT HATCH ACTUATED LIGHT SWITCH - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
EFFECTIVITY
ALL EXCEPT ATI INTERIOR
1. Remove Switch (Fig. 201)
A. Verify that emergency lights switch on pilots' overhead panel is set to OFF.
B. Open EMERG LTS POWER and EMERG LTS CONTROL circuit breakers on P18-3 panel.
C. Open emergency exit hatch (Ref 52-21-0, D&O).
D. Remove nut and washer and remove switch from bracket.
E. Disconnect wires from switch terminals.
2. Install Switch (Fig. 201)
A. Connect wires to switch terminals.
B. Insert switch through hole in bracket. Rotate switch so that key and slot are aligned.
C. Install washer and nut. Adjust switch (Ref step 3.), tighten nut, and lockwire.
NOTE: A minimum of two threads must show.
D. Close emergency exit hatch (Ref 52-21-0).
E. Close circuit breakers opened in step 1.B.
3. Adjust Switch (Fig. 201)
A. Verify that emergency lights switch on pilots' overhead panel is set to OFF.
B. Open EMERG LTS POWER circuit breaker on P18-3 panel.
C. Open emergency exit hatch (Ref 52-21-0).
D. Adjust mounting nuts so that switch actuator is fully depressed when hatch is closed.
E. Tighten nuts and lockwire.
NOTE: A minimum of two threads must show.
E. Close circuit breakers opened in step 3.B.
4. Test Switch
A. Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-0).
B. Check that EMER EXIT LIGHTS switch on P5 panel is set to ARMED.
C. Open emergency exit hatch (Ref 52-21-0) and check that overwing lights are illuminated.
CAUTION:  RETURN DOOR TO CLOSED POSITION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO CONSERVE BATTERIES.
D. Close emergency exit hatch (Ref 52-21-0) and check that overwing lights are extinguished.
E. Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-0).

AISLE LIGHTS - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
EFFECTIVITY
ATI INTERIOR
1. General
A.  The following procedures provide steps for relamping, removing, installing and testing aisle lights.
2.  Equipment and Materials
A.  A .094-inch diameter drill rod, 2-6 inches long
3.  Relamp Light (Fig. 201)
A.  Verify that the EMER EXIT LIGHTS switch on the P5 overhead panel is in OFF.
B.  Raise guard and place the EMER EXIT switch on P14 aft attendants' panel to ON.
C.  Identify lights(s) to be relamped.
D.  Place EMER EXIT switch on P14 aft attendant's panel to NORM. Lower switch guard.
E.  Verify that all aisle lights have gone out.
F.  Insert drill rod into hole at bottom of lens and push firmly until lens is removed.
G.  Replace lamp.
H.  Press lens into place until firmly seated.
I.  Test light.
4.  Remove Light Assembly (Fig. 201)
A.  Insert drill rod into hole at bottom of lens and push firmly until lens is removed.
B.  Gain access to light assembly.
(1)  
Lower passenger service unit directly inboard of light assembly.

(2)  
Remove mounting fasteners from inboard side of bullnose.

(3)  
Lower bullnose assembly.


C.  Slide cable nipple away from light assembly.
D.  Remove electrical wires from light assembly terminals.
E.  Remove mounting screws and washers.
F.  Remove light assembly.
5.  Install Light Assembly (Fig. 201)
A.  Install electrical wiring and cable nipple.
B.  Install light assembly with mounting screws and washers.
C.  Close items opened in step 4.B.
D.  Press lens into place until firmly seated.
E.  Test light per par. 6.
6.  Test Light Assembly
