B.  Release two quick-release fasteners near each inboard corner of PSU or insert small rod (or similar device) in each inboard corner and push to release latches, as applicable (use care not to mar PSU surface), and lower PSU until lanyard is taut.
C.  Remove wires from switch terminals.
D.  Pull cap assembly from switch.
E.  Remove mounting nut and lockwasher and remove switch.
4.  Install Attendant Call Switch (Fig. 401)
A.  Install switch with lockwasher and retaining nut.
B.  Attach electrical wires to switch terminals.
C.  Press cap assembly on switch.
D.  Raise PSU and secure fasteners or check that latches are engaged, as applicable.
E.  Close PASSENGER AND CREW CALL circuit breaker on P18 panel.
F.  Test attendant call switch.
(1)  
Provide electrical power.

(2)  
Press switch. Check that switch integral light and applicable master call lights come on. Verify also, that chime tone sounds at applicable stations.

(3)  
Press switch to off. Check that system is reset.

(4)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required.

ATTENDANT CALL SWITCH - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
EFFECTIVITY
Carry-All Compartment Interior
1. General
A.  A single alternate action switch, mounted in the PSU's provides passengers with an attendant call facility. The switch is mounted from the underside of the PSU.
2.  Remove Attendant Call Switch (Fig. 401)
A.  Open PASSENGER AND CREW CALL circuit breaker on P18 circuit breaker panel.
B.  Insert small rod or similar device in each inboard corner of PSU and push to release latch, (use care not to mar PSU surface), and lower PSU until lanyard is taut.
C.  Remove wires from switch terminals.
D.  Pull lens assembly from switch.
E.  Remove mounting nut and washer from switch and remove switch, retainer and adapter.
3.  Install Attendant Call Switch (Fig. 401)
A.  Install switch through square hole in retainer. Place washer on switch and start retaining nut.
B.  Insert adapter into mounting hole in PSU shell. Then insert switch through square hole in adapter and rotate switch 45 degrees so that square lug on switch body locks retainer and adapter in PSU shell mounting hole.
C.  Secure with retaining nut.
D.  Attach electrical wires to switch terminals.
E.  Press lens cap assembly on switch with head of figure toward latch side of PSU.
F.  Raise PSU and check that latches are engaged.
G.  Close PASSENGER AND CREW CALL circuit breaker on P18 panel.
H.  Test attendant call switch.
(1)  
Provide electrical power.

(2)  
Press switch. Check that switch integral light and applicable master call lights come on. Verify also, that chime tone sounds at applicable stations.

(3)  
Press switch to off. Check that system is reset.

(4)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required.

LAVATORY LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
EFFECTIVITY
ATI INTERIOR
1. General
A.  Lavatories are illuminated with incandescent lights in the lavatory ceiling, above each lavatory door, and fluorescent lights above or beside the mirrors. The mirror lights illuminate automatically when ground power is applied to the airplane.
2.  Lavatory Dome Lights (Fig. 1)
A. Incandescent dome lights use 28v dc power from the battery bus. There are no ON/OFF switches for these lights. the lights are illuminated when the battery bus is powered.
3.  Lavatory Fluorescent Lights (Fig 1)
A.  When airplane power is connected and the forward or aft lavatory door is closed and locked, power from 115v ac bus No. 1 is applied through the door closed contacts of the door latch switch, to the fluorescent light ballast units in the lavatory mirror light assembly. One ballast unit in each lavatory drives two fluorescent tubes.
B.  When ground power is connected to the airplane, 115v ac from the external power bus is applied through the door not locked contacts of the door latch switch to the mirror lights.
