G. Retie loose wire to airplane wire bundle as required.
H. Raise PSU and check that latches are engaged.
I. Close WINDOW LIGHT circuit breaker on P18 load control center panel. Remove do-not-operate identifier.
J. Test Ballast
(1)
Provide electrical power.
(2)
Set WINDOW light switch on attendant's panel to ON. Check that lights controlled by replaced ballast operate.
(3)
Set switch to OFF.
(4)
Remove electrical power if no longer required.

READING LIGHT SWITCH - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
EFFECTIVITY
New Look Interior
1. General
A. Alternate action switches are installed in the PSU's, providing individual control of passenger reading lights.
2. Remove Reading Light Switch (Fig. 401)
A. Open applicable reading light circuit breaker on P18 circuit breaker panel.
B. Release two quick-release fasteners near each inboard corner of PSU or insert small rod (or similar device) in each inboard corner and push to release latches, as applicable (use care not to mar PSU surface), and lower PSU until lanyard is taut.
C. Remove wires from switch terminals.
D. Pull cap assembly from switch.
E. Remove mounting nut and lockwasher and remove switch.
4. Install Reading Light Switch (Fig. 401)
A. Install switch with lockwasher and retaining nut.
B. Attach electrical wires to switch terminals.
C. Press cap assembly on switch.
D. Raise PSU and secure fasteners or check that latches are engaged, as applicable.
E. Close circuit breaker opened in step 3.A.
F. Test reading light switch.

Provide electrical power.
(2)
Press switch. Check that applicable reading light comes on.
(3)
Press switch. Check that light goes off.
(4)
Remove electrical power if no longer required.

READING LIGHT SWITCH - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
EFFECTIVITY
Carry-All Compartment Interior
1. General
A. Alternate action switches are installed in the PSU's, providing individual control of passenger reading lights.
2. Remove Reading Light Switch (Fig. 401)
A. Open applicable reading light circuit breaker on P18 panel.
B. Insert small rod or similar device into hole near each inboard corner of PSU and push to release latch (use care not to mar PSU surface), and lower PSU until lanyard is taut.
C. Remove wires from switch terminals.
D. Pull lens cap assembly from switch.
E. Remove mounting nut and washer from switch and remove switch, retainer and adapter.
3. Install Reading Light Switch (Fig. 401)
A. Insert switch through square hole in retainer. Place washer on switch and start retaining nut.
B. Insert adapter into mounting hole in PSU shell. Then insert switch through square hole in adapter and rotate switch 45 degrees so that square lug on switch body locks retainer and adapter in PSU shell mounting hole.
C. Secure with retaining nut.
D. Attach electrical wires to switch terminals.
E. Press lens cap assembly on switch.
F. Raise PSU and check that latches are engaged.
G. Close reading light circuit breaker on P18 circuit breaker panel opened in step 2.A.
H. Test reading light switch.

Provide electrical power.
(2)
Press switch twice. Check that light comes on and goes off.
(3)
Remove electrical power if no longer required.
