 A. Safety Precautions
 (1)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

 (2)
 Make sure that the forward avionic-compartment door 811 (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-002) is open.

 (a) Make sure that the warning notice is put in position on the opened forward avionic-compartment door 811 which tells persons not to close the door.

 (3)
 Make sure that the APU is serviceable.

 (4)
 Make sure that the APU fuel line bleeds correctly (Ref. TASK 28-22-00-710-001) if it was drained to do a maintenance task since the last operation of the APU.

 (5)
 Make sure that all blanking plugs and covers are removed.

 (6)
 Make sure that the nose of the aircraft points into the wind.

 (7)
 Make sure that the aircraft fuel system is serviceable and the fuel quantity is sufficient.

 (8)
 Make sure that the APU fire and overheat detection system and the APU fire-extinguishing system are serviceable (Ref. TASK 26-22-00-710-001).

 (9)
 Do the APU shutdown immediately if you find a malfunction of the APU system during the operation. Correct the failure before you operate the APU again.


 (10) If an emergency occurs, do the APU emergency shutdown immediately. You can start the emergency shutdown from:
 -
the APU FIRE PUSH pushbutton switch on the panel 20VU,

 -
the APU SHUT OFF pushbutton switch on the panel 108VU.


 NOTE : Do the APU emergency shutdown immediately if smoke, unusual
____
 noise, fuel or oil leakage occurs.

 (a) Make sure that the fault which caused the emergency is corrected before you operate the APU again.
 (11) Make sure that the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are closed correctly (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).

 Installation of the APU Hoist Tool (131-9(A))
 WARNING : DO NOT TOUCH THE APU UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS
_______ WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
 1. Reason for the Job
__________________
 Install the APU HOIST MINILIFT before you do any of the subsequent
 procedures:

 -removal and installation of the APU.
 -detailed visual inspection of the APU suspension rods, shockmounts
 structure

 -including brackets and vissible part of attachment fittings.
 -detailed inspection of the tie-rod assemblys.
 -
removal and installation of the FWD LH vibration isolator 4035KM.

 -
removal and installation of the FWD RH vibration isolator 4045KM.

 -
removal and installation of the AFT vibration isolator.

 -
removal and installation of the APU mount brackets 4065KM, 4075KM and 4085KM. END
