Install the HOIST - MINILIFT (10) to the APU compartment.

(a)
Remove the temporarily installed quick release pins (2) and (8) from the HOIST - MINILIFT (10) .

(b)
Put the HOIST - MINILIFT (10) in the correct position and attach it with the quick release pin (2) to the APU hoist bracket (1) on the top firewall of the APU compartment.

(c)
Put the HOIST - MINILIFT (10) in the correct position and attach it with the quick release pin (8) to the bearing assy (7) on the LH side of the APU compartment.

Connection the of the HOIST - MINILIFT cable (3) to the APU

(a)
Connect the shackle (5) to the cable (3) of the HOIST - MINILIFT with the quick release pin (4).

(b)
Connect the shackle (5) with the quick release pin (6) to the adapter of the APU (9).

(5)
Put the weight of the APU from the APU mounts onto the HOIST -MINILIFT.

CAUTION : DO NOT TURN THE HOIST HANDLE MORE THAN 90 DEGREES, AFTER
_______ YOU REMOVE THE SLACK FROM THE HOIST CABLE. IF YOU TURN THE HOIST HANDLE MORE THAN 90 DEGREES, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU AND THE APU MOUNTS.
(a) Operate the HOIST - MINILIFT (10) until the weight of the APU is removed from the APU mounts.
NOTE : Do a check and make sure that the HOIST - MINILIFT is
____ assembled and installed correctly and holds the load.
NOTE : Before you install the hoist handle, turn the upper drum
____ shaft of the HOIST - MINILIFT with your hand until you have removed the slack from the hoist cable. Then install the hoist handle on the upper drum shaft and turn the handle 90 degrees in a clockwise direction. Thus you make sure that the weight of the APU is removed from the APU mounts.

B. Installation of the HOIST - MINILIFT and SAFETY BELT - APU HOIST.

NOTE : Do the subsequent steps of this paragraph if the load compressor

scroll installed has the following P/N 2810315-3.
This are APU'S:

-with P/N 3800278-2 and CHANGE NO. 122 not incorporated.
-before P/N 3800278-3 SERIES NO.12.
-upto P/N 3800278-3 SERIES NO. 11 CHANGE NO. 122 not incorporated.
(1)
Do a check and make sure that the components of the HOIST - MINILIFT and the SAFETY BELT - APU HOIST are in the correct condition.

(2)
Assemble the components of the HOIST - MINILIFT (22) correctly.

NOTE : Obey the instructions of the tool manufacturer when you do the
____ check and assemble the compenents of the HOIST - MINILIFT.
(3)
Install the HOIST - MINILIFT (22) to the APU compartment.

(a)
Remove the temporarily installed quick release pins (21) and (23) from the HOIST - MINILIFT (22).

(b)
Put the HOIST - MINILIFT (22) in the correct position and attach it with the quick release pin (21) to the APU hoist bracket (20) on the top firewall of the APU compartment.

(c)
Put the HOIST - MINILIFT (22) in the correct position and attach it with the quick release pin (23) to the bearing assy (24) on the LH side of the APU compartment.

(4)
Connection of the HOIST - MINILIFT cable (26) to the APU.

(a)
Put the APU cable (26) through the coupling ring (27).

(b)
Connect the shackle (36) with the quick release pin (33) to the APU cable (26).

(5)
Connection of the SAFETY BELT - APU HOIST to the APU cable (26).

(a)
Install the shackles (28) and (35) to the coupling ring (27).

(b)
Install the hoist belt (30) round the APU compressor scroll housing (25).

(35) with the bolts (29) and (34).

(6)
Put the weight of the APU from the APU mounts onto the HOIST -MINILIFT.
