A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Put the warning notices on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
(2)
Energize the ground service network (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3)
Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

(1)
Put the access platform below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR. (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001)

Set the light switch 11LJ to on.
(4)
Remove the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-21-000-001) (Ref. TASK 52-41-22-000-001).

USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES AND GOGGLES.
CAUTION : DO NOT POINT THE SPRAY INTO THE APU INTAKE-DUCT.

WATER CAN GO INTO THE FELT METAL AND FREEZE. THIS WILL CAUSE
DAMAGE TO THE INTAKE DUCT AND MAKE IT UNSERVICEABLE.

A. Cleaning of the APU Compartment
(1)
Take a container and use a solution of 50% water and 50% CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-011).
(2)
Apply the solution with a sponge on the APU compartment walls.
(3)
Leave the solution on the surface for 20 minutes.
(4)
Rinse the surface with warm clear water.
(5)
Start and operate the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-710-008) for 10 minutes.

B. Alternative
(1)
Vaporize the solution (50% water and 50% CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-011)) with low pressure on the compartment wall. Take care not to get spray on the APU.
(2)
Leave the solution on the surface for 20 minutes.
(3)
Rinse the surface with hot steam water cleaner (temperature 70 DEG.C
(158.00 DEG.F) lowest pressure.
(4)
Start and operate the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-710-008) for 10 minutes.

Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Set the light switch 11LJ to off.
(3)
Close the APU access doors 316AR, 315AL (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001) .

Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD.
