E. Enter the Flaps 20° TAKEOFF SPEEDS Charts with temperature, altitude and gross
weight from Step D.
Determine:
Rotation speed VR = 137 KCAS
Decision speed V1 = 114 KCAS
F. Enter the MINIMUM V1 FOR CONTROL ON GROUND, V1MCG Chart with
temperature, altitude and gross weight from Step D.
Determine:
Minimum Speed for Control on Ground V1MCG = 116 KCAS
G. V1 must be greater than V1MCG, so a higher V1 / VR ratio is necessary. An iterative
process is required to determine maximum allowable takeoff gross weight and correct
speeds.
Enter the Flaps 20° RUNWAY LENGTH AND V1 ADJUSTMENTS Chart with:
Reference Accelerate-Stop Distance = 3900 ft.
Reference Accelerate-Go Distance = 6800 ft.
Select speed ratio greater than 0.83 without increasing Reference Accelerate-Stop
Distance. Start iteration with takeoff decision speed ratio = 0.90.
Determine:
Effective Runway Length = 4300 ft.
H. Enter the Flaps 20° MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TAKEOFF GROSS WEIGHT Chart
with:
Effective runway length = 4300 ft.
Determine:
Maximum Allowable Takeoff Gross Weight = 59,500 pounds
Enter the Flaps 20° TAKEOFF SPEEDS Charts
Determine:
Rotation speed VR = 128 KCAS
Decision speed V1 = 115 KCAS
Enter the MINIMUM V1 FOR CONTROL ON GROUND, V1MCG Chart with the
Maximum Allowable Takeoff Gross Weight of 59,500 pounds.
Determine:
Minimum Speed for Control on Ground V1MCG = 117 KCAS
I. V1 is less than V1MCG, so further iteration is required. Repeat Steps G and H at
higher takeoff decision speed ratio until V1 is greater than or equal to V1MCG.

SECTION 5.6 OBSTACLE CLEARANCE LIMITED PERFORMANCE
NET TAKEOFF FLIGHT PATH
Takeoff gross weight is limited when the net takeoff flight path does not clear existing obstacles.
The obstacle clearance procedure is to climb with landing gear retracted, flaps in takeoff position
and at a speed of V2 to 1500 ft. Use of these charts will ensure that obstacles will be cleared by
minimum of 35 feet.
In addition to criteria governing accelerate-go distance, the following apply:
1. No configuration change, except gear retraction, is assumed to be made prior to
reaching height of 1500 ft. above takeoff surface.
2. Gear retraction shall be initiated immediately after lift-off.
3. The airplane shall attain speed V2 prior to reaching height of 35 feet above takeoff
surface and continue at speed as close as practical to, but not less than V2, until
reaching 1500 ft.
4. Net takeoff flight path data shall be determined in such manner that they represent
