BEFORE LANDING
It is recommended landing gear be extended earlier than normal.
Gear will assimilate the total air temperature in 3 to 5 minutes.
Perform several brake applications to 3,000 PSI.
Brake-by-Wire: Turn Anti-Skid OFF or use Brake Nutcracker Override Switch.
HMAB: Turn Anti-Skid OFF.
Ensure Anti-Skid is ON for landing.
Air Start Ignition...............if runway is covered with snow, slush, or standing water ................ ON
Ground Spoilers.......................................................................................................................ARM
LANDING
Perform firm touchdown to reduce strength of ice bond on brakes.
At main gear contact with the runway, Ground Spoilers should deploy automatically. Manual
speed brake deployment is a recommended back-up procedure.
Lower nose wheel to the runway immediately as the Ground Spoilers and Thrust Reversers are
being actuated.
Apply brakes smoothly and symmetrically with moderate-to-firm pressure until a safe stop is
assured.
Let the ANTI-SKID System perform its function. Do not attempt to cycle brake pedal pressure if
the anti-skid is "releasing". Maintain constant brake pedal pressure.
DO NOT use asymmetric reverse thrust on icy or slippery runways.
Be prepared for possible downwind drift on slippery runways with a crosswind when using
reverse thrust.
DO NOT attempt to turn off the runway until attaining safe, very slow, taxi speed.

TAXI IN/PARKING
CAUTION: USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TAXIING ON ICE COVERED RUNWAYS
OR TAXIWAYS AS EXCESSIVE SPEED OR HIGH CROSSWINDS MAY
START A SKID. MAKE ALL TURNS AT REDUCED SPEED.
Cowl Anti-ice ..........................................................................................................AS REQUIRED
If severe icing conditions are present, Cowl Anti-icing should remain ON. During prolonged
ground operation, periodic engine run-up to 85% LP may be performed to reduce the possibility
of ice buildup. This is dependent on runway/taxi surface conditions and the proximity of other
airplanes.
Avoid puddles and slush.
Chock wheels.
Release Parking Brake.
If hangar space is available hangar the airplane as soon as possible.
SECURING FOR OVERNIGHT OR EXTENDED PERIODS ON RAMP
If remaining overnight at airports where normal support is not available, the flight crew should
assure that the following actions have been accomplished.
Outflow Valve ....................................................................................................................CLOSED
Position the pressurization mode selector to MAN and hold outflow valve switch to CLOSE until
the outflow valve indicator shows the valve has closed.
Wheel Chocks ...................................................................................................CHECK IN PLACE
Parking Brake............................................................................................................................OFF
NOTE: If moisture has entered brake assembly, releasing parking brake will forestall possibility
of brakes freezing in this position.

Protective Covers and Plugs........................................................................................ INSTALLED
Water Storage Compartments .................................................................................AS REQUIRED
You must do the servicing of the potable water and waste water tanks as soon as possible after a
flight. Read table 1 to determine if it is necessary to drain or not (depending on the ambient
temperature and the cold soak period). ENSURE that there are no residual fluids before you
install the fill/drain caps. If this is not done, the fluids can freeze immediately behind the
fill/drain caps and cause delays at the next servicing. When the airplane is at temperatures below
0°C (32°F), you can keep the drain valves open to permit residual fluids to vent out after the
system has been drained.
