A.3 Transferring the Software License
A single license authorizes the ABD100 Test Suite software to be run on only one
computer. If there is a need to run the software on a different computer, the License must
be properly deactivated on the first computer and then reactivated on the alternate
computer. (The software itself does not need to be uninstalled from the first computer
and can continue to be used in Demo Mode for training purposes).
To transfer the software license, click the License Options in the Standards menu. In the
License Activator window click the Transfer License button. A message window will
provide a warning that the license will be permanently deactivated on that machine, and it
will ask for confirmation to continue the deactivation process. Once the Yes button is
clicked, a message window will confirm that deactivation took place and will provide a
Deactivation Code.
It is crucial that the Deactivation Code be remembered, as it will be needed to reactivate
the license on the computer to which the software is transferred. It is advisable to copypaste
the code into a word processing document to be kept as a record, although a log
file named DEACTIVATION_LOG.txt with the deactivation code will be created in the
SWCS application directory.
Install the SWCS application software and the ABD100 Library files on the alternate
computer. Follow the procedures for running the licensed Test Administrator, except give
the Deactivation Code to the Elgar representative who will first verify that it is a valid code
and then provide a new Activation Code.
