 (b)  Where BMS3-29 is specified as optional to BMS3-23, the
application requirements for BMS3-23 shall apply.
 (c)  Wipe up puddles using a clean dry cloth or rags if puddles
block drain holes or cross drains.  The use of explosion proof
vacuum systems are allowed, provided the equipment is approved
by the appropriate division safety office.
 (d)  Ventilate BMS3-23 after application in enclosed areas for an
hour minimum before enclosing or covering to allow evaporation
of volatile solvents.  Enclosed areas treated with BMS3-29 or
BMS3-26 must be ventilated 4 hours minimumbefore enclosing or
covering.  Maintain the temperature within the application
limits for the materials used (cavity air and assembly).
NOTE:____ Ventilation times are recommended minimums.  Longer
ventillation times to achieve satisfactory evaporation
are recommended for lower temperatures, high humidity,
 and excess application.

 (e)  Contamination of insulation blankets by corossion inhibitng compounds is not allowed. If contamination occurs along a blanket seam, the blanket must be replaced. For all other areas, the corrosion inhibiting compound may be removed using aliphatic naphtha or citra-safe. If the compound cannot be removed, the blanket must be replaced.
 TASK 51-21-91-917-010-B00
 4. Cure the Corrosion Inhibiting Compound
 A. General
 (1)  Corrosion inhibiting compounds shall be cured sufficiently to prevent coating transfer if contacted by insulation blankets, etc. Curing in accordance with this section is not required if coating will not be contacted. If required, perform the following test to determine acceptable cure in contact areas:
 (a)
Obtain a sample of polyethylene film, 0.002 to 0.006 inch in thickness.

 (b)
Press the polyethylene film against the compound with light finger pressure.

 (c)
Check to determine if any compound has transferred to the polyethylene film or lifted from the structure.

NOTE: Typically, the times in Table 2 will be sufficient to
____ cure the compound when adequate ventilation is provided and when the compound is applied within the thickness ranges specified in Table 1. Ventilation, coating thickness, temperature, and humidity, all influence, the rate at which the coating cures. These values are intended for information only and actual cure times may vary.
