Apply masking tape or polyethylene film, 0.002 to 0.006 inches in thickness, to the adjacent surfaces.
(d)
Apply masking tape to electrical connectors.
WARNING: DO NOT LET CORROSION INHIBITING COMPOUND GET IN THE
_______ OXYGEN SYSTEM. IF THE CORROSION INHIBITING COMPOUND GETS IN THE OXYGEN SYSTEM, A FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(e)
Make sure you keep all corossion inhibiting compound out of the oxygen system.
(f)
Put covers on the components that follow:
NOTE:____Masking tape is not sufficient. Use plastic sheets or equivalent covers to fully seal these components from the compound.
1) control cables.
2) pulley and quadrant cable grooves.
3) bushings and bearings (all types including teflon).
4) rubber seals.
5) silicone seals.
6) high temperature surfaces.
7) wire bundles.
8) lubricated surfaces.
(g)
Make sure you apply protection to the applicable drain valves.
(h)
Apply covers or protection to areas that will be painted or sealed.
(i)
Make sure the high visual items such as doorways, hatches, and window frames have protective covers.

3. Apply Corrosion Inhibiting Compound
___________________________________
A. General
(1) This procedure gives instructions to apply the water-displacing corrosion inhibitive compound BMS3-23, BMS3-26, BMS3-29. It is recommended that you apply the compound regularly.
NOTE: Each airline must know it's aircraft's environment, the
____ corrosion inhibitive compound they use and when it was applied. If not, the corrosion protection can be unsatifactory. Boeing recommends BMS3-23, BMS3-26, and BMS3-29 and has made them a standard for organic corrosion inhibitors. There are other water-displacing corrosion inhibiting compounds that are satisfactory for use.

CAUTION: KEEP BMS3-23 AWAY FROM SURFACES THAT CAN BE 150 DEGREES
_______ FAHRENHEIT OR MORE DURING USE. THE DRY FILM FLASH POINT IS 500 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE BMS3-23 CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION.
(2)
The BMS3-23 is not satisfactory for surfaces that can be more than 150 degrees Fahrenheit because it contains wax compounds.
(3)
You cannot apply a primer and paint on the BMS3-23. The BMS3-23 gets in the surface and can bleed out. This can cause the primer and paint to have an unsatisfactory bond.
(4)
Let the primer and enamel dry for a minimum of 8 hours before you apply the BMS3-23.

C. Procedure

(1) Apply the Corrosion Inhibiting Compound
(a) Spray or brush BMS3-23 corrosion inhibiting compound to achieve a continuous coating. Spray or brush BMS3-26 and BMS3-29 to achieve a bubble-free coating (after drying) having a wet or dry thickness as specified in Table 1. When applying to parts where spraying or brushing is not possible, the process of filling and drainingis acceptable (e.g. slotted tracks). When using non-spray applications for BMS3-29 and BMS3-26, agitate prior to using.
