 ú  2) Remove and replace the fractured carriage.
 ú  3) Install the outboard flap (AMM 27-51-34/401).
 ú  (b) If you don not find spindle fractures, do this step:
 ú  1) Do the Flight Controls Trim Correction - Trouble Shooting
 ú  (AMM 27-09-71/101) for trouble shooting of unexpected
 ú  aileeron and/or rudder inputs.

 ú  (2) Manual Inspection (Alternate)
 ú  (a) Manual lift the main flap box at each end separetely to detect
 ú  any differential movement between the main flap box and the
 ú  flap carriage.

 NOTE: Any differential motion between the flap box and the____
 ú  carriage is an indication of a fracture of forward
 ú  portion of the spindle. Use the opposite flap as a
 ú  basis of comparison to detect any abnormal differential
 ú  movement between the flap box and the carriage.
 ú  1) If a fracture is detected in one of the carriage spindles,
 ú  do these steps:
 ú  a) Remove the flap (AMM 27-51-34/401).
 ú  b) Remove and replace the fractured carriage.
 ú  c) Install the flap (AMM 27-51-34/401).
 ú  (b) If you do not find spindle fractures, do this step:
 ú  1) Do the Flight Controls Trim Correction - Trouble Shooting

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure contains the task to examine the applicable valves after an upstream duct failure.
 (1)  
The two cold air check valves are installed in the distribution bay just upstream of the mix muff.

 (2)  
The hot air check valves are installed in each of the air-conditioning bays.

 (3)  
These valves can be damaged when there is an upstream duct failure of the pack outlet.

 (4)  
When there is a duct failure, the applicable valve must be removed and inspected.

Remove the applicable check valve for inspection
 (AMM 21-21-04/401, AMM 21-51-04/401).

Do a visual inspection of the applicable check valve

 NOTE: If there is damage to the valve, the valve must be

 replaced.

 (a)  Look for:
 -missing parts
 -cracks
 -corrosion
 -flapper deformation
 -restricted flapper movement.
