 3)  Examine the outflow valve defuser screens per Service Letter 737-SL-21-30.

 (c)  
Examine the main landing gear door.


 1)  Make sure the wing door for the main landing gear is adjusted correctly (AMM 32-13-21).

 (4)  If you feel vibration in the wing root area, with the trailing flaps extended between 2 and 5 units, do these steps:
 (a)  Examine the flaps. 1) Do a check for vertical play in the flap assembly foreflap on the trailing edge (AMM 27-51-07/601). 2) Make sure the sequence carriage bearing for the foreflap is not worn (AMM 27-51-47/601). 3) Do a check for play in the aft segment of inboard flap on the trailing edge. 4) Make sure the cam roller bearing of the actuating mechanism on the aft segment is not worn and is in good condition.
 5)  Make sure the panels on the trailing edge on the top of the wing are adjusted correctly (AMM 27-51-34/501).

 6) Do a check for the interface blade seals for the foreflap/spoiler (AMM 27-61-11/401). 7) Make sure the access panel to the slat actuator for the leading edge is not loose. 8) Make sure the trailing edge aft flaps and foreflap are in good condition. 9) Make sure the inboard mid flap seal plate is in good condition (AMM 27-51-29).
 NOTE: A misadjusted seal plate can cause a humming noise
____ that can be heard at the seats just aft of the wing.

 (5)  If you feel vibration with noise, do these steps:
 (a)  
Make sure there is sealant at the wing-to-body fairing.

 (b)  
Do a check of the ground service check swing valve
 (AMM 21-21-12/401).


 (c)  
Make sure the air distribution ducts are not loose and do not vibrate (AMM 21-21-00/001, AMM 21-21-12/401, AMM 21-22-00/001, AMM 21-23-00/001, AMM 21-24-11/401, AMM 21-24-21/401).

 (d)  
Make sure the nose landing gear door is adjusted correctly (AMM 32-22-11).

 (6)  If you feel vibration and possibly noise mostly over the wing, do these steps:
 (a)
Make sure the seal door for the krueger flap on the wing leading edge is adjusted correctly (AMM 27-81-11).

 (b)  
Do a check for low frequency engine vibrations.

 (c)  
Make sure the fan rotor is balanced (AMM 71-00-00).

Vibration, no identified source, location, or direction. Flaps up.
Fly airplane at same speed, altitude, payload, and angle of attack associated with the vibration report. Monitor for onset of vibration. Proceed as given in "Vibration absent" or "Vibration present", as follows: The intent is to duplicate the condition at which vibration was reported. Permit sufficient time during each step for vibration to develop and be noted. Between steps, return airplane to nominal condition and repeat procedure which induced vibration. Try to isolate frequency and location of source of vibration. (Cont)
