 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains the following tasks:
 (1)  
Flaps Inspection.

 (2)  
Slats Inspection.


 B.  When the trailing edge flaps are lowered at speeds more than the placard speeds permit, the flap components and related structures must be examined for damage and conditions defined in this procedure.
 C.  When the leading edge slats are lowered at speeds more than the flaps 1 placard for flap detents 1, 2, and 5, or more than the alternate flap extend speed placard for flap detents 10 and above, the slat components must be examined for damage and conditions defined in this procedure.
 D.  You must do the conditional inspection as follows:
 (1)  
If the overspeed was 15 knots or less, do this inspection within 100 flight hours of the overspeed indication.

 (2)  
If the overspeed was more than 15 knots, do this inspection before the next flight.

 2.  Flaps Inspection________________
 A.  Flap Areas:
 S 282-002
 (1)  
Examine all the wing flaps external skin for distortion and pulled or missing fasteners.

 S 282-003

 (2)  
Examine the flap tracks for cracks or distortion; the track attachment points for cracks, distortion, and hole elongation.

 S 282-004

 (3)  
Examine the flap track support fittings and the wing in-spar surfaces near flap support fittings for cracks, distortion, hole elongation, and pulled or missing fasteners.

 S 282-005

 (4)  
Examine the flap carriages for cracks; the bearings and the mounting bolts for binding, cracks, distortion, and hole elongation.

 3.  Slats Inspection________________
 A. Leading Edge Slat Areas
 S 892-010
 WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE FOR THE SLAT ACTUATION SYSTEM.
_______ INJURY TO A PERSON OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR IF THE SLATS MOVE. THE SLAT ACTUATION SYSTEM MUST NOT BE OPERATED DURING THIS INSPECTION. FAILURE TO OBEY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (1)  
Do the deactivation procedure for the leading edge slat system (AMM 27-81-00/001).

 S 212-007

 (2)
Examine the leading edge slat components and support structure.

 (a)  
Examine the external skin of all slats for distortion. Also look for fasteners that have pulled out or are not there.

 (b)  
Examine all slat main tracks, auxiliary arms, rack and pinion drive and the related attachment structure. Look for cracks, distortion, or hole elongation.

 (c)  
Examine all slat track support rollers. Also examine their attachment bolts and wing inspar surfaces that are near the slat support roller fixed ribs. Look for cracks, distortion, hole elongation, and for fasteners that have pulled out or are not there.

 NACELLE/STRUT PRESSURE RELIEF DOORS OPEN CONDITION -

 1.  General_______
 A.  Two tasks are supplied in this procedure. The first task is to examine the nacelle/strut structure. The second task is to examine the pneumatic ducts.
 B.  The pressure relief doors are made to open in order to prevent too much pressure in the nacelle/strut structure . There can be too much nacelle/strut pressure when a pneumatic duct breaks.
 C.  Also, the pressure relief doors can open if a condition occurs which can cause temporary or permanent distortion. Example conditions are as follows but others can also occur:
