1. General_______
A. This chapter gives the principal dimensions for the wing, ailerons, flaps, horizontal stabilizer surfaces, vertical stabilizer surfaces, and body. It also gives areas for the wing and tail surfaces. There are station diagrams for the body, wing, vertical tail surfaces, engine nacelle and access doors and panels.

2. Reference Planes and Lines (Fig. 201)__________________________
A. General
(1)
The airplane is divided into stations, waterlines, and buttock lines. They are measured in inches. They will help you quickly identify the location of components, the center of gravity and the weight distribution.
(2)
Standard Abbreviations and Definitions
(a) Fuselage
B STA,BS, or STA Body (Fuselage) Station. A plane that is perpendicular to the fuselage centerline. It is measured from a point 130.00 inches forward of the nose.
BBL or BL Body (Fuselage) Buttock Line. A vertical plane that is parallel to the vertical centerline plane, BBL 0.00. It is found by its perpendicular distance from the fuselage centerline plane. (It is a measurement of width.)
BRP Body (Fuselage) Reference Plane. A plane that is perpendicular to the BBL plane and goes through BWL 208.10, the top of the main deck floor beams.
BWL or WL Body (Fuselage) Waterline. A plane that is perpendicular to the BBL plane, parallel to the fuselage centerline. It is measured from a parallel imaginary plane, BWL 0.00, 148.5 inches below the lowest fuselage surface.
