I was flying in the traffic pattern performing touch and goes. This occurred during
my second touch and go. When I was on base leg of approach, I was informed by
tower to beware of wake turbulence from a Citation jet taking off. On transition
from base to final, the Citation took off, and I noted their point of rotation. I
touched down before that point. My intention was a touch and go. The touchdown
was smooth, without issue. Approximately 200-300 FT after touchdown, the plane
veered right. I attempted to correct with left rudder pedal, but it continued to veer
right. I verified I was using proper left pedal, but aircraft veered off runway onto
grass. No damage was noted to airplane.
Synopsis
Wake turbulence from a previously departed aircraft may have caused a C172 pilot
to lose control after touchdown. A runway excursion resulted.

During a descent into ATL on ERLIN2 arrival we encountered wake turbulence from
a B747 ahead. We were told the B747 was 10 mile ahead of us by ATC. On TCAS it
appeared to be more like 7 miles. Cleared to cross ERLIN at 12000. While passing
through 15200 FT we encountered moderate wake from the B747. At that time we
stopped our descent, and climbed to 15500 FT and turned right off course a few
degrees. We had a right quartering tailwind. When we told the Controller he gave
us a turn to heading 180 then handed us off to approach. Approach had us descend
to 13000 and put us back on the arrival. We then finished the approach and landing
into ATL.
Synopsis
ERJ175 flight crew reports encountering wake turbulence from preceding B747
during the ERLIN 2 arrival to ATL. Flight crew climbed slightly and turns then
reported incident to ATC.
