are i~sedb y the stations used by flying clubs.
5.2.1.7.2.1.1 The Type b) call sign uses the aircraft operator's call sign followed by thc compkte regishation marking.
5.2.1.7.3.4.4 In Frcnch and English, the words "canaVchmne1" are used. h Hench, the word "dicinlale" may be omittzd
if there is no ambiguity.
5.2.1.4 In the EoIlowing cases, numbers are not transmitted by pronouncing each digit separately:
1) messages containing traffic information, e.g. bansmission of direction - eleven o'clock;
2) instruction to fly a complete circle -make a three sixty.
In order to avoid confusion with the numbers TWO and FOUR, the words "TO'' and "FOR" must not be
used when reportindassigning levels.
When transmitting altitudes, the word ALTITUDE may precede the altitude value, the word FEET shall
follow the altitude value.
Remark: As a result of a trial phase, the word ALTITUDE in connection with the word FEET is no longer
compulsory.
Flight identifications and aircraft types containing identical numbers may be transmitted as "DOUBLE
(number)" or "TRIPLE (number)" provided it docs not cause confusion.
Remark: This method of transmission is as safc as thc known versions and is cornonly used throughout
the world.
The exception to the rule given in 5.2.1.4.1.1 for the spclling of numbers is not prescribed in Germany.
Re~nnrliT: he former ICAO rille of pronouncing each digit separately without exceptiori is consiilered safer
and generally does no^ take more time than a message in accordance with 5.2.1.4.1.2. Moreover.
resmiction of this lattcr special rule to the "transinission of altitude. cloud height. visibility and RVR
information" would leave the user in doub~a s to how the numbers in different contexts.are to be
pronounced, for example "1 000 hPa".
