Definitions
Air traffic management. The aggregation of the airborne functions and ground-based functions (air traffic
services, airspace management and air traffic flow management) required to ensure the safe and efficient
movement of aircraft during all phases of operations.
Approved training. Training conducted within an approved training organization under special curricula
approved by a Contracting State.
Approved training organization. An organization approved by a Contracting State in accordance with the
requirements of Annex 1, paragraph 1.2.8.2 and Appendix 2 to perform training and operating under the
supervision of that State.
ATM services personnel. Persons assigned to perform duties directly in connection with the provision of Air
