2 Temperatures Stabilised over 30-second rundown period at flight idle or with NG at 70%, which is
the most efficient gas generator speed for cool down. It used to be 3 minutes at
67% NG, but Turbomeca now recommend 30 seconds, as a 2-minute rundown only
reduces the temperature by 20 degs C anyway, which just increases fuel
consumption with no visible effect on coking up. Temperature in the bearings initially
goes down, but after 30 secs it goes all over the place, due to low oil flow at idle. It
is better to run back up to Flight Idle for a bit before shutting down.
