3 HYD TEST button (on
collective)
Press for about 2 seconds to depressurise the yaw hydraulic accumulator
which will centre the yaw pedals.
4 Flight controls Check cyclic neutral and collective in low pitch, with frictions adjusted as
required, and lock on. You can't do much of a full and free check (and
neither should you try) because the droop stops are there.
5 Rotor brake Released – forward
6 Fuel shutoff lever Lockwired and forward
7 Fuel Flow Off
8 Battery Switch On. These should illuminate: HYD, GEN, MGB.P, PITOT, ENG.P. BAT
comes on as well if you are on external power. Check the battery voltage.
9 Warning lamps Test – FIRE light will take a second to come on

3 Start button Push 30 seconds after switching boost pumps on, and keep running through start
sequence (up to 40%). Minimum voltage drop is to 15v. If it falls below, abort, as you
may not get a light-up. If you do abort a start, close the fuel flow, and switch off the
fuel pump and generator. If it was due to high T4, check battery voltage. If normal,
crank the engine for 15 seconds and try again, increasing fuel flow gradually.
4 Fuel flow Move forward about a third when NG reaches 10% (if OAT is below zero, do this as
Start button is depressed).
5 NG Increasing
6 T4 Control with fuel flow – keep around 700 degs.
7 Rotors Turning
8 Start button Release between 40-45% NG
9 Oil pressure Rising
10 Fuel flow Accelerate smoothly to 68%-ish – do not allow NR to remain steady between 300-
320 RPM. Maintain until indication on oil temp gauge.
11 Warning lights These should go out: ENG.P (at 70%), MGB.P, HYD, HORN (on when HYD goes
out, then out from 250 RPM NR. Aural warning should go off about 350 RPM.
