Put a headset into a passenger control unit (PCU) jack.
(b)
Use the channel select switches to make sure the audio on channels 3 thru 12 is clear.
(c)
While you listen to one of the audio channels push and hold each volume control switch. 1) Make sure the audio level changes.

Use the captains' audio-selector panel to make a PA announcement.

Make sure of the conditions that follow at a PCU:
(a)
PA audio is on channels 3 thru 12 while the announcement is made.
(b)
Entertainment audio is on when the announcement ends.
(c)
Do the above steps again with an attendant handset to do the PA announcement.
H. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Turn the PES switch to OFF.
(2)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task removes the main multiplexer. The second task installs the multiplexer and does a test of the installation.
B. Main multiplexer M10733 is on shelf 4 of the main equipment center rack E4 (E4-4).

_______ PROCEDURE FOR DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MAIN MULTIPLEXER.
(1)
Do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref 20-41-01/201).
(2)
Remove the main multiplexer (Ref 20-10-01/401).
