K. GUN 102-999; Power to the video system is controlled by the SYST PWR switch on the SCU. A relay in the SCU monitors the passenger oxygen system. If the passenger oxygen masks are deployed, either automatically or manually, video system power is removed. The power and video inputs to the monitors are controlled by the respective switches on the SCU.
L. GUN 102-999; The prerecorded audio output of each VTR is amplified out to the SCU in two channels. Isolation amplifiers in the SCU output each channel to the main multiplexer of the PES (AMM 23-34-00). Via the ZONE A or B controls on the SCU, either channel of audio (primary or secondary) can be provided to the passenger address system (AMM 23-31-00).
M. GUN 102-999; The LCD screen on the SCU is touch sensitive. Operation of the video system is controlled by touching the screen while the menu display is shown. Commands selected on the menu display will be carried out when the EXEC switch is pressed.
N. GUN 102-999; After commands have been entered on the menu display, the PREV switch is pressed. The first preview display selects the VTR to provide video signals for preview. Once the VTR is selected, a second preview display is shown. This display has control symbols across the bottom of the screen which allow the operator to remotely control the VTR from the SCU. The upper portion of the display functions as a preview monitor, showing the video picture from the VTR.
O. GUN 102-999; After preview of the video picture is complete, the EXEC switch is pressed. The video monitors in each zone selected on the menu display will come on and video will be broadcast to the passengers. The execute display will show the status of each entertainment zone.

P. GUN 102-999; The ZONE A switch controls the video source selection for the forward video monitors. The switch also controls the video audio source selection for the forward zone (Ref 23-34-00) and the PA amplifier (Ref 23-31-00). The ZONE B switch controls the video source selection for the aft video monitors and the audio source selection for the aft zone.
Q. GUN 102-999; The PA switch on the SCU sends the video audio through the PA system. This audio has a PTT-3 priority through the PA amplifier. The PA VOLUME switch controls the volume of the video audio. Turn the switch clockwise to increase the volume and OFF to stop the video audio. The CH 1 and 2 switch controls the channel of video audio (channel 1 or channel 2) that is used.
R. GUN 102-999; The PAUSE function on the VTR will be set if the video system is in operation and the passenger address for the airplane is set by the pilots or the flight attendants.
S. Control
(1) Turn-On Procedure
(a)
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

(b)
Set PES switch on forward attendant panel P21 to ON.

a) Press SYS POWER switch to on (switchlight on). b) Press MONITOR SEL switch until indicators read VTR 1 PRI. c) Press MON PWR ON switch. Check that light in switch
comes on. d) Press SOURCE SEL switch until indicators read VTR 1. e) If video audio is desired over the PA speakers,
rotate the PA volume control clockwise from OFF to mid-point. Press the SEL switch to select primary or secondary audio, as desired.
2) At the video tape reproducer: a) Insert video cassette into VTR and wait five seconds for tape to thread. b) Press the PLAY switch. 3) Observe video picture on CDU preview monitor and adjust VTR TRACKING control as necessary.
(d) GUN 102-999; Perform the following at the video control center: 1) At the system control unit:
a) Push the SCU SYST PWR switch to the on position (the light comes on the SCU).
2) At the video tape reproducer (VTR-1): a) Put the video cassette tape in the VTR. b) Push the REW switch to make sure the tape is at the
start.
