VHF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The left VHF communication antenna, M245, is mounted on the top centerline of the airplane at station 753. The right VHF communication antenna, M246, is located on the bottom centerline of the airplane at station 730. The center VHF communication antenna, M247, (if installed), is located on the bottom centerline of the airplane at station 1473. The removal and installation procedures are the same for all of the antennas.

Open the applicable circuit breakers on the overhead circuit breaker panel, P11, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags.

Remove the bolts from the antenna base.

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU BREAK THE WEATHERPROOFING SEAL WITH THE
_______ SEALANT REMOVAL TOOL. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE SKIN OR THE ELECTRICAL CABLE AT THE ANTENNA BASE CAN OCCUR.
(3) Pry around the antenna with the sealant removal tool until the seal is fully broken.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT PULL THE ANTENNA CABLE. LOWER THE ANTENNA AND DISCONNECT THE CABLE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ANTENNA CABLE.

Lower the antenna until you have access to the antenna cable connector.
