(3) Set the mode selector switch to the AM or USB position on the applicable HF communication control panel, (P5).
(a) Set the frequency display to an approved test frequency.
NOTE: When the HF communication system first tunes to a new
____ frequency, the HF comm antenna coupler is in the HOME position. The HOME position helps prevent internal damage when you move the component.

(1) Open the applicable circuit breakers on the overhead circuit breaker panel, P11, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

11G8, HF COMM LEFT
(b)
11G34, HF COMM RIGHT (if installed)

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF THE HF SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU OPEN THE
_______ ACCESS PANEL. AN HF TRANSMISSION CAN CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK TO PERSONS.
(2) Remove the access panel 322 CL on the left side of the vertical stabilizer (AMM 6-42-00/201).
NOTE: It will be necessary to remove approximately 60 screws.

CAUTION:_______MOVE THE HF COMM ANTENNA COUPLER CAREFULLY. SET THE COMPONENT ON ITS BOTTOM. DO NOT SET THE COMPONENT ON ITS END (WITH THE HANDLE UP). INTERNAL PARTS ARE EASILY DAMAGED.
(3) Remove the HF communication antenna coupler (AMM 20-10-01/401).
