System Control Unit (SCU)
(1) The system control unit (SCU) is located in the video control center. The SCU distributes video signals to the monitors. The SCU also distributes audio signals to the passenger entertainment (AMM 23-34-00) and passenger address (AMM 23-31-00) systems. Video signals from either VTR can be distributed to the monitors.

(2) The SCU has the following controls and displays:
(a)
The SYST POWER switch is the main power switch for the video system.
(b)
A MONITOR headphone jack for both electric and pneumatic headphones.
(c)
A BRIGHT control to adjust the brightness of the LCD screen display.
(d)
A PA VOLUME control knob which provides a PTT signal to the PA amplifier (Ref 23-31-00) and controls the volume of video audio being broadcast over the PA system.
