 b)  Areas where a stain is not permitted and the area must look satisfactory.
 c)  When the friction of braking components could be decreased from the molybdenum disulfide.
 d)  If the relation of torque-to-tension of threaded fasteners could be changed from the molybdenum disulfide.
 (2)  MIL-G-21164 is usually better for:
 (a)  
For heavy loads, specially for steel surfaces sliding on steel surfaces.

 (b)  
Bearings where remaining lubrication is necessary to prevent or delay bearing failure if most of the grease is gone.

 A.  This procedure contains steps to lubricate components in the elevator control system.

 2.  Prepare to Lubricate the Elevator Control System

 A.  Equipment
 (1)  Lock Assemblies from Elevator PCA Lockout
 Equipment B27009-12, as follows:

 (a)  Lock Assembly, PCA - B27009-2
 NOTE: The PCA lock assembly can be
____ installed on either the left, right, or center PCAs. It contains a shear-out device to prevent damage caused by accidental system operation during maintenance.
 (b)  Lock Assembly, PCA Input Linkage -B27009-3
 NOTE: The input linkage lock assembly
____ holds the linkage in the elevator up position during maintenance. It is installed on the center PCA linkage.

 D. Prepare For Lubrication (Fig. 303)
 S 863-002
 (1)  Position the stabilizer to approximately neutral position (6 units of trim).
 S 863-003
 (2) Remove the pressure from the right and center hydraulic systems and ú reservoirs (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (3)  
Pull the control column full aft and use a rope to hold the control column in this position.

 (4)  
Attach DO-NOT-OPERATE tags to the control column.

 (5)  
Put the L, R, and C FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF switches on sidewall panel, P61, to OFF.

 (6)  
Put the RIGHT and CENTER STAB TRIM SHUTOFF valve switches on control stand panel, P10, to the CUTOUT position.

 (7)  
Open these circuit breakers on overhead panel, P11, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
11B19, STAB TRIM ALT (IF INSTALLED)

 (b)  
11C12, STAB TRIM SHUTOFF RIGHT

 (c)  
11C13, STAB TRIM SHUTOFF LEFT

 (d)  
11H11 or 11C05, STAB TRIM CONT L

 (e)  
11H17, FLT CONT SHUTOFF TAIL LEFT

 (f)  
11H18, FLT CONT SHUTOFF TAIL CTR

 (g)  
11H20, STAB TRIM CONT R
