 top of the oxygen cylinder.

 WARNING: YOU MUST REMOVE THE CAP SLOWLY AND LET THE PRESSURE BLEED OUT.
_______ THERE CAN BE HIGH PRESSURES IN A PRESSURE-TYPE CAP. THE CAP CAN BLOW OFF WITH MUCH FORCE IF YOU REMOVE IT QUICKLY. INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR IF THE CAP BLOWS OFF.
 (5)  
Remove all the lockwire or cotter pins that hold the cap on the oxygen cylinder.

 (6)  
Slowly turn the cap to let all the gas bleed out. Then, fully remove the cap.


 NOTE: There are pressure-type caps for the oxygen cylinders with
____ metal valve-seats in the shutoff valves. They are usually held to the cylinder with chains. Do not cut or remove these chains.

 (7)  Remove the caps from the oxygen cylinder ports and airplane lines.
 NOTE: Do not remove the recoil plug on the overboard discharge
____ port. The recoil plug permits the bottle to discharge through ports that are diametrically opposite. This will decrease the effects of the thrust. Tighten the recoil plug with you hand only.

Examine the fittings and threads to make sure they are all clean and serviceable.

Put the oxygen cylinder on the rollers.

 Push the cylinder in the aft direction until it touches the aft retaining ring.

 Put the forward retaining ring in its position above the forward end of the oxygen cylinder.

 (12)
 Install and tighten the T-bolt to the applicable torque value (AMM 20-11-00/201).


 NOTE: Make sure the T-bolt holds the crew oxygen cylinder tightly
____
 to prevent all forward or aft movement.

 NOTE: Make sure the threads of the T-bolt extend through the nut
____
 with at least the chamfer visible.

 WARNING:_______DO NOT USE LUBRICANTS OR GASKETS IN THESE CONNECTIONS. THESE MATERIALS COULD BE A SOURCE OF IGNITION. IF YOU USE LUBRICANTS, TOO MUCH TORQUE COULD BE ACCIDENTALLY APPLIED TO THE FITTINGS, AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT. IF YOU USE GASKETS, A LEAK COULD OCCUR.
 (13) Do these steps to connect the regulator:
 (a)  Remove the recoil plug.
 WARNING: THE UNION THAT IS INSTALLED IN THE VALVE BODY AT THE
_______ OVERBOARD DISCHARGE PORT CONTAINS A BURST-DISC ASSEMBLY. IF YOU CHANGE IT, THE BURST-DISC ASSEMBLY CAN BE DAMAGED AND WILL PERMIT SUDDEN THRUST LOADS AND A FIRE. USE A SPANNER WRENCH ON THE UNION.
 (b)
Connect the overboard-discharge line with a spanner wrench.

 NOTE:____Make sure the connection is tight. Use a spanner wrench when you connect it to prevent change, movement and then failure of the burst-disc assembly.

 (c)  
Turn the regulator up to its installed position and connect the coupling-to-cylinder nut.

 (a)  
On the overhead circuit breaker panel, P11:
 1) 11S33, OXYGEN PRESS
 2) GUN 004-007;


 11S32, PASS OXY PRESS

 (b)  
GUN 004-007;
 On the APU/EXT power panel, P34:
 1) 34B2, PASS OXY PRESS IND

 

 S 863-028
 WARNING:_______YOU MUST OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY. IF YOU OPEN IT TOO QUICKLY, THE OXYGEN CAN GET HOT AND A FIRE COULD OCCUR.
 CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE. YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SHUTOFF VALVES IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE.
 (15) Slowly turn the shutoff valve for the oxygen cylinder to the fully open position. Then, turn the shutoff valve back 1/4-turn.
