MAINTENANCE MANUAL
S 023-119
(5) Slowly turn the cap to let all the gas bleed out and then fully remove the cap.
NOTE: There are pressure-type caps for the oxygen cylinders with
____ metal valve-seats in the shutoff valves. They are usually held to the cylinder with chains. Do not cut or remove these chains.
S 023-121
(6) Remove the caps from the oxygen cylinder ports and airplane lines.
NOTE: Do not remove the recoil plug on the overboard discharge
____ port. The recoil plug permits the bottle to discharge through ports that are diametrically opposite. This will decrease the effects of the thrust. Tighten the recoil plug with your hand only.
S 283-122
(7)
Examine the fittings and threads to make sure they are all clean and serviceable.
S 423-123
(8)
Put the oxygen cylinder in the rack.
S 423-124
(9)
Push the cylinder in the aft direction until it touches the aft retaining ring.
S 413-125
(10)
Install and tighten the T-bolt to the applicable torque value (AMM 20-11-00/201).
NOTE: Make sure the oxygen cylinder is held tightly to prevent all
____
forward or aft movement.
NOTE: Make sure the threads of the T-bolt extend through the nut
____
with at least the chamfer visible.
S 413-126
(11) Connect the overboard-discharge line with a spanner wrench.
NOTE:____Make sure the connection is tight. Use a spanner wrench when you connect it to prevent change, movement and then failure of the burst-disc assembly.

(12) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
On the overhead circuit breaker panel, P11:
1) 11S33, OXYGEN PRESS
2) 11S32, PASS OXY PRESS
(b)
On the APU/EXT power panel, P34:
1) 34B2, PASS OXY PRESS IND

WARNING:_______YOU MUST OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY. IF YOU OPEN IT TOO QUICKLY, THE OXYGEN CAN GET HOT AND A FIRE COULD OCCUR.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE. YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SHUTOFF VALVES IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE.
(13) Slowly turn the shutoff valve for the oxygen cylinder to the fully open position and then turn the shutoff valve back 1/4-turn.
NOTE: Do not apply more than 25 pound-inches (2.8 newton meters)
____ of torque. Use only your hand to turn the shutoff valve.
S 433-130
(14)
Install the lockwire to hold the valve in this position.
S 793-131
(15)
Do a leakage check on the oxygen cylinder couplings with the leak detection compound.
S 793-132
(16)
Remove the leak detection compound with a clean cloth immediately after you do the check.
S 213-133
(17)
Compare the pressure shown on the oxygen pressure indicator on the overhead panel, P5, and on the remote fill panel, P83.
NOTE: The difference of the pressure values must be less
____
than 100 PSI (689.5 kPa).
H. Put the Airplane to Its Usual Condition
S 433-134
(1)
For oxygen cylinders with a cap held by a chain, install the lockwire on the cap to decrease its movement.
(2)
Install the access panels for the oxygen cylinder rack.
