ú (4) If the APU is operating during the refueling, do these steps:
ú (a) Obey the Limits for the operation of the APU, do this task:
ú APU Starting and Operation (AMM 49-11-00/201).
ú (b) You can start the APU during refueling if the start is an
ú initial start or a restart after normal shutdown.
ú (c) You can shut down the APU (manual or automatic) during the
ú refueling operation.

ú SHUTDOWN OF THE APU OR A FAILURE TO START CONDITION. INJURY TO

ú (5) If their is a protective automatic shutdown or failure to start
ú condition on the APU, stop the refueling operation and disconnect
ú the fuel hose(s) from the airplane fueling adapter(s) before you
ú start the APU again.

WARNING: DO THESE STEPS IF AN APU FIRE OCCURS DURING REFUELING.
_______INJURY ú TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR. ú ú (6) If an APU fire occurs, do these steps in this sequence: ú (a) Stop the refueling operation. ú (b) The APU should shut down automatically. If it does not shut ú down automatically, do this task: APU Emergency Shutdown ú (AMM 49-11-00/201). ú (c) Discharge the APU fire bottles (AMM 49-11-00/201). ú (d) Notify persons on board the airplane and Airport Fire Services. ú ú S 863-257 ú ú
WARNING:_______DO THESE STEPS IF A FUEL SPILLAGE OCCURS DURING REFUELING. ú INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR. ú ú (7) If fuel spillage occurs, do these steps: ú (a) Stop the refueling operation. ú (b) Notify persons on board the airplane. ú (c) Unload the APU and shut it down. To do this, do this task: ú APU Usual Shutdown (AMM 49-11-00/201). ú 1) Do not start the APU until the spilled fuel is removed and ú there is no further risk of spilled fuel or vapors. ú ú S 863-258 ú ú
WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE FUELING VEHICLES ARE NOT PARKED IN THE EXHAUST ú STREAM OF THIS AIRPLANE OR ANY ADJACENT AIRPLANES. THE HOT ú EXHAUST CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION. ú ú (8) Make sure fueling vehicles are in a position that avoids any risk of ú coming in the path of the APU exhaust stream. ú ú NOTE: Make sure the APU exhaust stream does not impinge on ú ____ ú fueling vehicles for other airplanes. Make sure the fueling ú vehicles for this airplane are out of the APU exhaust stream ú of adjacent airplanes. ú ú ú S 863-259 ú (9) Make sure the exhaust from the APU does not go into any flammable ú vapor zone (for example, another aircraft during fueling).
