R R OPTIONAL TESTING R R Independent measurements can be made before a decision is made to enter (or R close up) a fuel tank if the following Test Equipment is available: R - Simmonds DC Capacitance Tester PSD 30-2 R (A test set for measuring DC capacitance. The test set to have been R calibrated for the A320 type aircraft) R - Simmonds FQS Interface Unit PSD A320-4 R (A cable set that connects the Tester to the Wing or Center Tank wall R connectors to enable the tank units only to be checked) R - Simmonds FQS Interface Unit PSD A320-5 R (An adaptor and cables that permits the PSD A320-4 cables to be extended R to connect with the FQIC rack connector after the removal of the FQIC. R This enables the tank units and the aircraft wiring to be checked).
R NOTE : A tolerance of + or - 0.03pF plus the tolerance of the DC Capacitance
____ R Tester is recommened. This is over and above the values shown in the R table below. This gives an allowance for non-laboratory conditions, R different operators, and the accuracy of the Test Set used.
R NOTE : When measuring the probes 24QT1(2) and 39QT (the probes with a CIC),
____ R the CIC Signal Line or the Probe Signal Line, whichever is NOT being R measured, must be linked to the Return Line of the respective group.
