 4. Fault Isolation
_______________
 A. If the MCDU shows the message 284617 DUMMY TEMP SENSOR 42QJ:
 (1) Do a resistance check of the dummy sensor 42QJ at the terminal block 202VT(92VU) between terminals 23F and 23K (Ref. AWM 28-46-12). Make sure the resistance is between 135 and 165 ohms. If the resistance is:

 - within range as specified above, go to Step (2)

 - not within range as specified above or open circuit, go to Step (4).

 

 (2) Replace the FLSCU-2 (9QJ), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-34-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-34-400-001).

 (3) If the fault continues:

 (a) Do a check (Ref. AWM 28-46-12) of the aircraft wiring (dummy sensor input line - H) between the FLSCU-2 rack connector AB, pin 7D and the terminal block 202VT, terminal 23A.

 (b) Do a check (Ref. AWM 28-46-12) of the aircraft wiring (dummy sensor input line - L) between the FLSCU-2 rack connector AB, pin 7C and the terminal block 202VT, terminal 23H.

 (c) Do a check (Ref. AWM 28-46-12) of the aircraft wiring (FLSCU-2 BITE 4 test command line) between the FLSCU-2 rack connector AA, pin 15D and the FQIC rack connector AB, pin 13E.

 (d) Do a check (Ref. AWM 28-46-12) of the aircraft wiring (FLSCU-2 T2 output line) between the FLSCU-2 rack connector AB, pin 4D and the FQIC rack connector AC, pin 4F.

 (e) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors.

 (f) Do the test in Para. 3.A.

 

 (4) If the fault continues or if the resistance of the dummy sensor is not in range in Step (1):

 (a) Replace the RESISTOR (42QJ).

 (b) Do the test in Para. 3.A.

 B. During normal operation of the FLSS/FWC/DMC this is a configuration memo. If in either wing tank a pair of low level sensors that are AND gated together become dry indicating a fuel level of less than approximately 1500kg (3300lb) the memo message is given. It is not a warning of a system/LRU failure or malfunction.
