 ------------------------------------------------------------------------| | RANGE (NM) SELECTED | | PARAMETER |-----------------------------------------------| | | 10 | 20 | 40 | 80 | 160 | 320 | |----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------| | SQUARE SIDE | 14 | 28 | 56 | 112 | 224 | 448 | ------------------------------------------------------------------------
The range is the diameter of the external scale circle. Data are displayed on the screen surface defined by the circle. The map reference point (MRP) is a lateral flight plan waypoint that is defined as a function of the current MCDU page displayed. If a flight plan page (ACTIVE, TEMPORARY or SECONDARY) is displayed, the lateral waypoint in 2L of the page is the MRP. If 2L does not contain a waypoint, the first flight plan waypoint beyond 2L is selected as the MRP. Displaying a sub-flight plan page (e.g LAT REV, VERT REV, etc...) will not change the MRP. Likewise, automatic reversion to a NEW data page (e.g. NEW WAYPOINT) or DUPLICATE NAMES page will not change the MRP. If any page other than a flight plan page is displayed, the MRP is the TO waypoint of the corresponding ACTIVE (for ACTIVE or TEMPORARY) or SECONDARY F-PLN. If a MRP cannot be determined (e.g. there are no waypoints in the F-PLN), the current A/C position is the MRP by default.

 (6) Grid MORA R This function is enabled or disabled through the OPC file according R to the GRID MORA ACTIVATED software option value. R It allows to determine and display on ND only one value corresponding R to the highest of the Minimum Off Route Altitudes (MORA).
 (7) Specific considerations:
-However, when VOR 1 and 2 data are output, the FM sends an indication to the EIS of whether the VOR is magnetic or true referenced as provided by the data base. The magnetic declinations of VOR 1 and 2, as provided by the data base, are output as well. If this magnetic declination is not available, the FM computes and outputs the magnetic variation at the VOR based on the VOR position. This ensures a consistent display on the ND between raw VOR data and ROSE heading orientation, which follows the NORTH REF pushbutton switch.
-The parameters associated with the station not chosen for tuning are output NCD. If neither type of station is tuned, all associated parameters are NCD.
-There are several digital discrete words transmitted to the EIS. Note that one of these discrete words, start of dynamic data, is used to indicate that a new set of dynamic data follows.

The Approach Type is only transmitted when an approach exists in the F-PLN and the active flight phase is DES or APPR. Otherwise, the Approach Type is output as "Not Standard Approach" and nothing is displayed on the ND.
