The constraints on system response time for lateral flight plan modifications are listed in the table below:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------| Modification | System response time | | | (Theoretical Max. Value) | |-------------------------------------|-------------------------------| | Holding Pattern at present position | 1.5 s |
| | |
| Insert Next Waypoint | 1.5 s |
| | |
| DIR TO | 1.5 s |
| | |
| Parallel Offset | 2.0 s |

| ACTIVATE SECONDARY | 5.0 s |

| New DEST | 5.0 s |

| Airway | 5.0 s |

B. Effects of MCDU Failure If an MCDU failure occurs on a given side (1 or 2) or if an MCDU is turned off, the inhibition of background data and display of MAP NOT AVAIL on the respective ND will not result. As long as the transmitting FM is healthy, transmission to the EIS continues despite the loss of an MCDU. If an MCDU is failed or turned off, the corresponding ND behaves as follows (Note: this should follow the rules of non F-PLN page display):
-if PLAN mode is selected, the Map Reference Point (MRP) is the active waypoint,
-secondary and alternate flight plan display as well as any missed approach display are suppressed.

A. Edit Area Definition
(1) ARC (MAP) mode (Ref. Fig. 003) The edit area in ARC mode is rectangular and varies in size according to the range selection on the FCU. The ND is oriented heading or track up (realized via OPC option) with the aircraft position at the bottom of the CRT at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical axis. The vertical axis is the current heading or track of the aircraft. The horizontal axis is perpendicular to the vertical axis. The heading or track is referenced to magnetic. The following table defines the distances used for determining the dimensions of the edit area with respect to the range selected on the FCU. The range is from the aircraft present position to the scale line near the top of the screen. Data is displayed from the bottom of the screen area to the scale line.
------------------------------------------------------------------------| | RANGE (NM) SELECTED | | PARAMETER |-----------------------------------------------| | | 10 | 20 | 40 | 80 | 160 | 320 | |----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------| | AHEAD OF AIRCRAFT | 10.5 | 20.5 | 40.5 | 80.5 | 160.5 | 320.5 | | | | | | | | | | BEHIND AIRCRAFT | 3.5 | 7.0 | 14.0 | 28.0 | 56.0 | 112.0 | | | | | | | | | | BESIDE AIRCRAFT | 8.3 | 16.6 | 33.2 | 66.4 | 132.8 | 265.6 | -----------------------------------------------------------------------|

(2) ROSE mode (Ref. Fig. 004) There are three ROSE modes for which data must be provided: ROSE-VOR, ROSE-LS and ROSE-NAV. ROSE-VOR and ROSE-LS do not have defined edit areas. However, background data are always provided to the EIS, although they should only contain EIS mode for these two cases. Dynamic data are always provided. The edit area in ROSE-NAV mode is rectangular and varies in size according to the range selection on the FCU. The ND is oriented heading or track up (realized via OPC software option "Track up display option activated") with the aircraft in the center of the CRT. The heading or track is referenced to magnetic. The following table defines the distance used for determining the dimensions of the edit area with respect to the range selected on the FCU. The range is the diameter of the external scale circle. Data are displayed on the whole screen surface defined by the circle. Additionally, the VOR course is provided if any has been selected.
------------------------------------------------------------------------| | RANGE (NM) SELECTED | | PARAMETER |-----------------------------------------------| | | 10 | 20 | 40 | 80 | 160 | 320 | |----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------|-------| | AHEAD OF AIRCRAFT | 7.6 | 14.7 | 28.9 | 57.3 | 114.1 | 227.7 | | | | | | | | | | BEHIND AIRCRAFT | 7.1 | 14.2 | 28.4 | 56.8 | 113.6 | 227.2 | | | | | | | | | | BESIDE AIRCRAFT | 7.1 | 14.2 | 28.4 | 56.8 | 113.6 | 227.2 | -----------------------------------------------------------------------|

(3) PLAN mode (Ref. Fig. 005) The edit area in PLAN mode is square and varies in size according to the range selection on the FCU. The area of the square is based on a two-dimensional axis with the map reference point (MRP) as the intersection of the two axes in the center of the square. The vertical axis is referenced to true north and the horizontal axis is perpendicular to it. The following table defines the distances used for determining the dimensions of the edit area with respect to the range selected on the FCU. 中国航空网 www.aero.cn 航空翻译 www.aviation.cn 本文链接地址:A320飞机维护手册 AMM AUTO FLIGHT 自动飞行4(49)
