% Maintenance Practices % 1. General
% These maintenance practices tell you how to remove and install the main components in the engine % control system. All other work on the engine control system can only be done by a TAE approved % maintenance shop or the manufacturer.

(1) Make sure that the engine is safe: S Set the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch to OFF. S Set the ENGINE MASTER switch to OFF. S Set the power lever to IDLE.
(2) Remove the top cover plate from the center console: S Remove 2 screws at the bottom of the plate. Refer to Figure 2.
(3) Remove the handle for the emergency fuel valve: S Remove the center screw. S Lift the handle from the shaft.
(4) Remove the 2 screws that attach the bottom cover plate to the emergency fuel valve mounting.
(5) Lift the bottom cover plate complete with the power lever to give access to the electrical connectors.
(6) Disconnect the 2 electrical in-line connectors for the power lever.
(7) Remove the power lever from the airplane.

(1) Remove the 4 screws that attach the power lever to the bottom cover panel of the center console. Refer to Figure 2.
(2) Carefully lift the face plate as far as possible.
(3) Turn the face plate and move it through the hole in the bottom cover plate.
(4) Turn the bottom cover plate and lift it off the power lever.
(5) Assemble the face plate to the old power lever.

(1) Remove the 4 screws that attach the face plate to the new power lever.
(2) Move the bottom cover panel over the power lever and face plate. Make sure that the white plastic shield and the front and rear shield guides are in the correct position.
(3) Install the 4 screws that attach the power lever to the bottom cover panel of the center console.
(4) Move the power lever through the full range. The lever must move freely with the white plastic shield.
