(19)  Move the mixture control lever in the cockpit between RICH and LEAN CUT-OFF. The mixture control must be smooth in operation with no restrictions. 
(20)  Do a test for correct operation of the mixture control.  Refer to Section 76-00. 
(21)  Install the propeller (if necessary).  Refer to Section 61-00. 
(22)  Connect the propeller control cable to the propeller governor: S Move the propeller cable into position through the rubber grommets in the engine cooling baffles. S Install the rear adjustment nut and washer onto the control cable outer sheath. S Push the cable through the support bracket at the bottom of the engine. S Install the front adjustment nut and washer on to the control cable outer sheath. Tighten the nut. 
(23)  Attach the cable wire end to the propeller governor lever: S Push the cable wire end through the hole in the bolt. S Tighten the nut on the adjustment bolt. Make sure the cable wire end is in safety.  Hold the bolt with a wrench.

(24)  Move the propeller control lever in the cockpit between MAX and MIN. The propeller control must be smooth in operation with no restrictions. 
(25)  Do a test for correct operation of the propeller control.  Refer to Section 61-20. 
(26)  Connect the EGT probe electrical cables: S Connect the in-line connectors. S Install the cable ties which hold the cables in the correct position.  Do this item for each of the EGT probes. Yellow cable to yellow cable and red cable to red cable. 
(27)  Do an oil level check.  Refer to Section 12-10. 
(28)  Do an inspection of all the controls that you have disconnected. If necessary, for your airworthiness authority, do a second inspection of all the controls that you have disconnected. 
(29)  Connect the spark plug cables to the spark plugs.  Make sure that the spark plug cables are connected to the correct spark plugs. Torque hand tight, then 1/16 to 1/8 turn with a wrench. 
(30)  Install the airplane battery.  Refer to Section 24-31. 
(31)  Install the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-10. 
(32)  Remove the airplane trestles. 
(33)  Lower the airplane with the jacks.  Refer to Section 07-10. 
(34)  Do an engine test.  Refer to Paragraph 5.

6. Engine Test General
These procedures tell you how to do an engine test. For more data on the engine and engine performance testing, refer to the Lycoming Operator's Manual.
A. Equipment

WARNING: DO NOT LET PERSONS INTO THE SAFETY RANGE OF THE AIRPLANE. PROPELLERS CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. 
(1)  Look in the airplane records for reports of problems. 
(2)  Position the airplane on level ground. Make sure that: S There are no loose stones on the ground near the propeller. S The safety zone around the airplane is clear. S The airplane heads into the wind.  Refer to Figure 6. 
(3)  Do a test of a sample of fuel for contamination.  Refer to Section 12-10 
(4)  Put chocks in front of each main wheel. 
(5)  Remove the Pitot probe cover. 
(6)  Make sure that there is enough fuel for the engine test: S Set the ALT/BAT switch to ON. S Read the fuel quantity indicator. S Set the ALT/BAT switch to OFF. S Refuel the airplane if necessary.
